What makes someone a "Good" or "Bad" person?

The person calling them a good or bad person.
Those are subjective terms, and they're assigned by the perceiver.
ash365 · 26-30, T
I don't think there are good or bad people, I think people do good or bad things, and yeah maybe some people could be considered worse by the frequency of 'bad' things they choose to do or severity. Now what governs what is 'good' versus 'bad' is a whole complicated issue on it's own, lots of psychobabble
WynterBear · 31-35, F
@ash365 Similiar to my own outlook, except I definitely consider people bad/good based on the severity/frequency of their bad actions.
Myocite · F
@WynterBear I agree 100%.

All of us have good and bad.
Based on what's socially acceptable or not, and what is seen as admirable in a character.
Now what defines you it's about what is prevalent in you, if you're more good than bad then you're called "good".

Perspective. Some people will see atheists as bad people and some will see the religious as bad. Same with feminists or democrats or capitalists. So on and so forth

There is no universal measure for what constitutes good or bad
WynterBear · 31-35, F
So do you have a set of morals/ideology you ascribe too, or no because you find it all meaningless?
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
@WynterBear In general, I take a neutral approach to things. Most of the time I find it hard to care about anything. But when I do, I believe that dignity is valuable. If there is something subversive to the dignity of certain entities, I tend to be ideologically opposed to it.

@TinyViolins Interesting!

Heart... intentions

That's hard to define but I guess for me it would be if they lacked kindness, empathy or compassion and they harmed others knowingly then bad
SW-User
Bad ppl can do good things and vice versa

so maybe we as ppl have the potential to be either but are actually neither

Its all just situational 🤷‍♂️

Nobody is good nor bad. It's choices because we are sinners. I don't take shlt from stories and crappy movies to believe good and bad

Their disregard for the impact their words or actions will have on others. Also, bad table manners. Lol.
SW-User
I suppose that would depend on your own set of morals.
WynterBear · 31-35, F
@SW-User Well what about according to your morals?
SW-User
Bad people make selfish decisions and actions. Good people are selfless. @WynterBear
Excellent question..Bad feel and do bad and good feel and good..I think fairness is best of all...
chuck7882 · 61-69, M
I think what complicates this is the fact that everyone's definition of good and bad is different
daisymay · 51-55, T
People who do evil things are bad. People who try to stop evil things are good.

The difference between empathy and apathy

In my opinion it is how they treat others.
jaymic64 · M
The way they treat others
daisymay · 51-55, T
@jaymic64 But, if a bad person treats a good person poorly and the Golden Rule is in effect, does the good person who is living up to their end of the bargain when they return the desired treatment a bad person?
Bad people get personal satisfaction from hurting others.

I don't "know"
