Were there ever a point in your life when you contemplated suicide?

I tried it twice..a neighbor discovered me.

Been thinking about it an AWFUL lot lately 🤔

In '97 when my wife ran off with her coworker, just before she slipped town and went out west it was Christmas and I became rather despondent so I went out into the garage, closed the door and started the car and sat there listening to Christmas music. After about an hour I said "Fu@# this", went inside and spent all night making Christmas cookies for the ladies at work. As fate would have it they were unbeknownst to me having a cookie exchange the next day and I was swamped with cookies.

Yes, and made a serious attempt.

When I was younger

Yes, but I couldn't because I can't think of any decent person who could take good care of my children. No one loves them as much as I do.

I was married very young and trapped in a very abusive marriage. My family were all strict religion who believed marriage was forever. I could see no other way out so I tried twice until finally someone helped me.

Yes.....I was raped in the nineties....and spent an agonising 3 month waiting for the HIV result. I went into meltdown...smoked cigarettes constantly, drank vodka like crazy, did coke like it was going out of fashion...

Only thing that kept me going? Honestly, my daughter, and watching 'The X Files'...

Luckily, the result came back that I was negative....so that was a relief..

Last night

I had a plan to do it a year ago, I was going to self immolate. But a change of life gave me a change of mind and change of heart.

Sadly yes but I managed to get past that and learn to live with the cards that life has dealt me.

I think about at least once 50% of my days. I cant. I would never leave my son, but yeah.

Mostly when I worked in Pound Land.. same awful album being played on loop everyday, staff were stuck up and thought too much of themselves despite having one of the crappiest low paid jobs ever, customers were rude and made drama about really miniscule things.. I didn't really have any other options but to work there.

Everyday the bus went past the cliffs on the way there and many times I thought about just getting off the bus and jumping.

That was probably my most likely time.

I’ve thought about it, but talked myself out of the idea....came to the conclusion that I’m not suicidal.
Have lost friends and family members to suicide, though. 😢

basically the past 45 years I thought of it too often. only once I set out to do it, but my inner gut stopped me from proceeding.

The worst part for me was always waking up a few hours later... unsuccessful in my attempt.

No. I just fantasized about it which always brought me relief so eventually made me feel better. I never thought about suicide in a serious way.
