@JoyfulSilence I was really young..27. My son had gone to his Dad's for the weekend.

@SW-User I was more depressed in my youth. I never attempted it, but I thought about it. I am too afraid of pain. And it is so final. Instead, I sometimes dwelled more on going AWOL. I came to realize it was not so much death I wanted, but somebody to care. Hence the AWOL fantasies, wondering if people would be frantic and worried. But I never went AWOL.

But that does not happen anymore, because I have all of you.

Of course, that introduces a new source of agony. I sometimes fall for women on here who don't want me or can't want me. That is another source of depression.

But I am so much more mature now. I look at it this way: my love for her is both a source of great joy and a source of great pain, but I want the joy so much I will endure the pain, at least for a while. It is unsustainable in the long run, of course, and unhealthy. Usually what happens is I fall for another and the cycle repeats. An endless cycle of blissful hope and crushing pain. Sigh.

@SW-User what!
SW-User
@JohnnyNoir Ya...another piece of the puzzle that is me..it's why I volunteer to help depressed people who want to end their lives..I know what it feels like to feel like you can't hold on any longer.

@SW-User I think it’s something that crosses most everyone’s mind at some point especially when they feel they’re at their lowest. I have, but never acted on it. You’re a good soul
SW-User
@JohnnyNoir Thank you very much. I appreciate you.

@SW-User Thank God for your neighbor ... but yeah, I think that anybody who truly thinks, considers the possibility ... but hopefully, the balance of those thoughts rests with the wonder of life.
SW-User
@NudasPriest Indeed. Miss Liz was an amazing woman.
