my father used to say : whats the difference between french and italian? french leave without saying goodbye / italians say goodbye but never leave 😂 (source: i am italian / portuguese lol)
SW-User
@tenente that's so true 🤣🤣

Mooed78 · F
You know in Ireland we have the long goodbye!! It’s the goodbye in the kitchen a good bye in the hall way and then a goodbye at the car outside.. Goodbye is in our blood!! Like on the phone, bye, bye bye, bye ,bye before we put the phone down! 😂
SW-User
@Mooed78 ikr, it's almost impossible and sometimes have to plan leaving "early" just to get home when I want😂😂😂
Mooed78 · F
@SW-User that’s exactly it! What are we like 😂😂😂
SW-User
@Mooed78 so cringey I guess 🤣🤣🤣
Littlewing · 36-40, F
Yes i would. If i want to escape i wouldnt want to say goodbye.
Ferric67 · M
@Littlewing that's exactly how I feel, I am escaping without anyone noticing 👍
Ferric67 · M
It's one of my specialties

I leave quietly, not that I go to parties any more 😆
Ontheroad · M
Would I? More like have I, and the answer is yes. More than once. Not one where the host personally invited me, I'll always at least try to say adios in that case, but otherwise when I'm done, I'm done and I just quietly walk out.
SW-User
@Ontheroad yes, I think if you're personally invited it's best to say bye
Ontheroad · M
@SW-User Agree, at least try anyway.
Definitely lol no I don't I'm free to do whatever I want 🤭
calicuz · 56-60, M
No I wouldn't, but it's only a requirement to the host, if you want to be known as having good manners that is.
Depends how bad i want to leave i guess
80% of the time I'll go without saying anything and i dont think it matters too much but maybe they all think I'm super rude, which might be the case
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
Well um... I mean I've done it before 😅 but yeah I don't really do that now I gotta say ✌️ to everybody on my way out
SW-User
Yep always disappear without being noticed, don't like saying goodbye.
SW-User
I just leave as it takes too long to do all the goodbyes!
Not necessarily. It depends on what kind of party.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
If I appeared by some horrible accident on a party, sneaking out unnoticed would be my most probable way of leaving.
SW-User
I would say good bye to you @SW-User
What kind of party 🤔
SW-User
@SW-User not sure, it was a random thought😅
SW-User
depends whos party haha
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
Round these parts that called an Irish goodbye and my sis used to do it all the time.

I think its rude.
SW-User
@Starcrossed OK, I'm Irish and are you saying we say goodbye too much or too little
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
@SW-User my sister will just all of a sudden disappear and no one saw her go, like magic. [Our dad is Irish]
SW-User
@Starcrossed I'm not aware of that, people here tend to say goodbye too much, they keep on saying goodbye like as if they have to be the last one to say it, it's a total thing here.. (it's really annoying too, goodbye "once" is enough)
romell · 51-55, M
Bad manners
I was raised in the south, so Irish goodbyes aren't my thing...
SW-User
@GohantheThird not my thing either I absolutely hate them
Justenjoyit · 61-69, M
Say good 👋
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
I say goodbye to the host. I think it’s rude not too.
