Is it wrong to beat ego with ego ?

Or should we just walk away ?
bookerdana · M
All I know is sometimes you have to stand up and be heard

But responses are mostly hot air and bombast,you don't have to swing at every pitch⚾

I could be wrong
@bookerdana nah, you're prolly right .
If someone can't hear you, shouting won't help

@OogieBoogie I meant on those long flame thrower questions ,I post my opinion and let it go ..its all insults after that😒
People do it all the time. It's good for reinforcing ego, under the guise of not using it.
@PhoenixPhail I dunno .
Im not entirely convinced it's the way ego should be reinforced .
@OogieBoogie I don't know that ego should be reinforced at all. 🤷‍♂️
@PhoenixPhail I suppose it depends on how much you have to start with 🤔
A certain amount is need for self worth and being able to independently navigate between super-ego and id.
Too much or too little and either the id rules, or we succumb to our superego and get lost in being too judgemental on ourselves .

Sounds pointless and tiring
@SW-User *nods in agreement*
It might perpetuate nonsense in this world? Imagine world leaders having this conversation (it would take honesty of them, and perhaps they would come to their senses.... entirely different subject)....

It's not wrong, but we live in a world where so many wrongs are committed, why play into the race to the bottom? And I know the one who thinks they won the intellectual argument that they earned something (I don't know why or what, outside ego), but really we are the only species with capability this way that hurts our own species and the world we live in.

Guess, why?
@OogieBoogie I may make a bold statement, we have the leaders in place now who don't know how to tie their own shoes, or hold empathy, but they are educated in making arguments....... I'm watching curiously of local media, some comments, and I know the politicians will cater to them, but every rich bum is making an armchair argument those who are homeless should just get a job (great empathy), and I think to myself, it must be wonderful coming home from a 9-5 job, always able to give, and your biggest complaint is tax, I'd have to be pretty blind
@thewindupbirdchronicles the world is becoming more and more divided.

People see the poor and destitute via media, but they have no idea of the struggle.....or the reality .

Even the middle class are living in a bubble to a degree now .
I only recently found out that in my country we have three categories of 'poor'!

I'm stunned ! - to have so many poor people we can split them into CATEGORIES .

The governments should be feeling ashamed of themselves !
But hey don't .....because - ego, individual ego .😠
@OogieBoogie I'm not even sure any politician now can even feel themselves, let alone another. A special kind of bubble, very inflated. Why is it, somewhere deep in our hearts we know what people need, and we make everything difficult and trying?

Is there a lust asking, , 'say do you deserve a home, do you meet our criteria, I live in a rich home, but I must know these answers before I'm willing to care for you' I want to know the lack of empathy and how one comes to not seeing someone else as just a person? Have we become so weak, we need to see people hurt before we see compassion?

If you're into Game Chess....maybe, it will time who wins though
@FreestyleArt I only ever play chess for fun over dinner .

I think you have to separate the yolks form the whites
It is probably wrong but it feels good
@Ozymandiaz very observant, sad but true .

Tough one this... to walk away often feels like defeat or acceptance of a wrong, but it is most often the smart move.

I'm not always successful and do try to do a reality check, but sometimes...
Ferric67 · M
we are on SW

got it?
😂@Ferric67 Yes Mr Ferric .🙏

Can I be on your team ?

Ergo Ego Egg

Therefore I Egg...sounds weird but not necessarily wrong.
BobbyMoeven · 51-55, M
Better eggo with eggo ...

That's a double waffle 😋
Beat it like it owes you money

Walk away. Who has the energy to spend precious time doing that. Does the ego ever "win"?
atlantic59 · 61-69, M
great question🙂
@atlantic59 sometimes I think it's this clever satisfying thing .....then I feel guilty afterwards.

It's very confusing.
Not wrong if skillfully done.

@bijouxbroussard gosh I love this movie.

And can't say I didn't get immense second hand satisfaction from that scene 😂
