We need to stop romanticizing serial killers.

They have love for serial killers and want them in their beds because they don't value their own lives. Once you don't value your own life, you tend to love destructive people and will vote, socialize or conduct everyday life in accordance to how you feel inside.

I TOTALLY agree! Everyone made such a big deal about the VERY un-imposing character that was Charles Manson, a sadly deluded little man who managed to garner a following based on his deluded thought processes.
When in fact, it was Charles "Tex" Watson who was the REAL monster who orchestrated the slaughter of Sharon Tate et al.

It really angers me he was able to marry, have conjugal visits, a fan club, and congratulates himself for being "Saved" as a born again Christian.

Yet Sharon Tates baby was slaughtered and denied the privilege of being born period, let alone "again" I hope somehow, in someway, this man is actually one day brought to the justice he truly deserves.

@Grateful4you I didn't even know about Charles Watson though.
@SatanBurger In the spirit of kindness, he did write a few decent songs and if given a break might have earned himself a somewhat credible career. It had nothing to do with the Beatles "Helter Skelter" he was desperate for recognition and social acceptance he never had.
@SatanBurger Few have. Mansons antic's turned the whole "Helter Skelter" theme into a media circus. As are many psychopathic killers, "Tex" Watson presented as a mild, even- tempered man. Sharons mom, ( Doris Tate ) at least had the fortitude to tell him what a disgusting little coward he really was and that his Christianity was a ridiculous farce.

But, we do need to find a way to prevent them from succeeding so often.

@SatanBurger i hope you will be. I read the book, which took some liberties with the facts as reported in the news, and on which the movie was based, again with some liberties taken.

@samueltyler2 We need to account for bias as also another reason why serial killers don't get caught. They often pick on marginalized groups and society as a whole doesn't question it. I gave a link above to an FBI person saying there's 2,000 serial killers among us even now where he talks about how nobody questions drug overdoses and the like when they could be the work of a serial killer.

He used some guy as an example that made victims swallow before choking them, I don't know what that does or whatever but apparently it's enough to make it look natural. So there's a huge bias to fight against when talking about better resources to consider, which sucks because it shouldn't be that way.

@SatanBurger the use of the term bias is probably incorrect. Denial works as a verb to describe it, as is lack of education, lack of compulsivity, curiosity, etc.

Giving these monsters exactly what they want, fame for destroying other people's lives and causing masses of other people to live in fear of the unthinkable while profiting from producing this trash for the losers who flock to it. This seems to be encouraging criminal activity. Anyone promoting this type of entertainment is harming society.

Media does seem to glamourise these fuckwits. Gangsters too, like the Kray twins..pair of arseholes not local heros.
SatanBurger · 36-40, FVIP
@Entwistle They do, they even give them nicknames and/or entertain these serial killers too. If the media just said something like "serial killer in insert whatever area" it doesn't sound as catchy as "the rat god" or something lols. Then in a way that feeds into serial killer's desire to manipulate the public and gain followers. It really is sick, they do it all the time.

@ExperienceDLT Well there's nothing you can do to "change" things personally on a world wide level but I feel like that I don't need to hang around people that do. I feel like that's a start.
@SatanBurger i wouldnt recommend hanging with serial killers anyway
SatanBurger · 36-40, FVIP
@ExperienceDLT I was talking about my original post in the romanticizing of serial killers, I don't have to hang with people who do that nor serial killers.

Stop romanticizing criminals and "thug life" in general ...

Stop pretending like Bonnie and Clyde were "Robin Hood" ... what a load of cr*p ...

Stop pretending that breaking the window of a random store owner unconnected to anything is advancing a cause ...
SatanBurger · 36-40, FVIP
@SW-User I think people fantasize about "what could be" regarding Bonnie and Clyde syndrome. These people often feel powerless and dream of big thug life and mansions as a way to compensate.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
Wow. Yeah. It's so easy to ignore the fact that the victims of these people were just ordinary people with families who loved them.
SatanBurger · 36-40, FVIP
@LordShadowfire It is for the serial killer groupies.
