It doesnt have to be a death that separates you from a spouse. My wife is in care with dementia. And it has reached the point where I have completely lost who she was. But she is still here and I still owe who she used to be all the love and loyalty she ever deserved, and I feel the need to visit her most days, even though she can be verbally aggressive at times. Although older, I would love to "move on" but I cant. I need to stay close..Abandoning her after 50 years is just not an option..😷

I'm sorry for your loss, and remember he would want u to go on and be happy. I know that is hard but you can do it. Your in a horrible situation but you will come through the other side. Think of the good times and laugh and smile. If u ever need to talk don't hesitate. Again God bless you

So sorry you're having to walk this journey too. I lost my husband in August 2024 to a sudden and unexpected brain hemorrhage. I don't think grief ever goes away, it's the price we pay for loving and being loved so much. I am having more good days lately, I think, with time, we learn to build our lives around the grief so it no longer feels like it's all you know. I also tried a bereavement group and decided it wasn't for me but my church family has been a massive support, it sounds cliche but one day at a time. Hugs and prayers for you ❤ xx

@Arrow17 I can see it's comforting to think that we become guardian angels when we die but angels are different creatures to humans.
"Similar to angels" just means we do not die but instead become immortal. In Matthew 22:29-30, Jesus was correcting the Sadducees, a group who didn't believe in life after death.
When Jesus said "He is not the God of the dead, but of the living" He wanted to show Abraham, Issac and Jacob were still alive to God, even though they died a long time before Jesus's earthly life and that when humans 'die', it's really only a change of address.
During our earthy life, we are made "a little lower than the angels" (because of our mortality and physical limitations) but when we are in heaven, rather than becoming angels, we will judge the angels. 1 Corinthians 6:3

@PatientlyWaiting25 True. Jesus is very very kind to me. Jesus is a precious treasure that I have in this earth. I feel I don't deserve especially I have an awful temper.
