Do you ever get physical anxiety in very tense scenes of a movie?

It doesn't happen often, but occasionally if the scene is really graphic or quite violent, I get physical anxiety. Like a tight chest or a strange feeling in my head.
Yes! Captain Phillips when Phillips (Tom Hanks) and crew were taken hostage aboard their ship by Somali pirates. Thought I was gonna need a Xanax and an adult diaper.
@OlderSometimesWiser As it turns out the crew of the Mersk Alabama said the entire movie was a major fabrication.

@OlderSometimesWiser Great movie!

Oh yes, for sure. If it's a good movie and I'm sufficiently sucked into it's story, then I start feeling emotions like I'm there.

Yes. Some years ago, watching the movie "Dunkirk," I got scared, sitting there in the movie theater, when the screaming Stukas dive-bombed the British troops on the beach.

@Thinkerbell Oh! I remember that scene well!

Sometimes but that's the desired effect. People want immersion with movies

Yes and i dont like if theres a kid getting hurt. People being abused, some heartbreaks. All makes me cry. Lol
@mooncrest02 I don't like that either. Children should not be in films that intense

If I watch a horror movie, that is the only way that I feel a little bit anxious
Just watched the sinister horror movie series

No, but I nearly passed out once, trying to hold my breath as long as the character did.
@Thevy29 I've tried that before. Hold my breath while the character is underwater to see if I can hold it as long as they can. I always lose.

Not really from a movie but more from real life situations which was more terrifying
AlchemyFox · 36-40, F
Yeah I can't do tons of gore or kids getting hurt
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
Oh yeah that's pretty common.

Sometimes in theaters yeah
Sometimes, yeah. Especially when I'm watching late at night in the dark.
