Yeah. You dont need the board though. Its just a permission slip to acknowledge whats already there. Your intent to communicate with them is enough to bring them into your life.
Yup.

Take care young lady.

Yes, they can and you can make them yourself.
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
Stay away from them. They attract stray spirits. You don't want them around.

Yes - I don't mess with them anymore.

Yes I am the ghost you summoned, coming back to be spooky when you least expected it.

No, still, I wouldn't go near one.

I did one with friends once when we were teenagers. I didn’t believe it worked at the time, but that’s all I have to base it on.

Know of any lawsuit against the manufacturers? The worst thing that can happen is getting a splitter throwing it away.
Why would it be possible to buy psychic abilities? Imagine a board made for the Chinese language. It would need a small room.

Bearing a name said to be derived from the French and German words for “yes,” the Ouija board is simply a flat, smooth board bearing the letters of the alphabet, numbers, and often the words “Yes,” “No,” “Maybe,” and “Goodbye.” A hand-sized, heart-shaped device perched upon three short legs, each of which has a pad or wheel to enable the instrument to slide freely across the board, is known as the planchette. This is used as a pointer, the tapered end of the heart shape indicating letters on the board.
One or more operators sit around the board, each lightly resting fingers upon the top of the planchette. It is said that spirits or other entities cause the planchette to move about the board, spelling out messages and answers to questions posed by the operators. (This process is a form of “dactylomancy,” or divination by means of finger motions.)
Actually, the movement is due to the ideomotor effect and this can be shown by the fact that when the operator is properly blindfolded, only gibberish is produced.
The Ouija board was patented in 1892 by a Maryland novelty company.

@BlueSkyKing i’m no expert, but here’s what I believe.
I believe they can work. It has to be a spirit or spirits that want to and can and there has to be a human participant that can connect for it to happen.
Anybody could make one as long as the human and spirit can connect. The spirit guides a hand of the person to spell out or answer the questions.
But it won’t work for every spirit if they cannot connect to the person, and if the person can’t connect to the spirit, it won’t work. At least that is what I believe from my experience. And from what I have heard, but I have never used one and I won’t because I’m not gonna take the risk of allowing a bad spirit.

@Jonjdw There’s absolutely no evidence for "spirits".
Ideomotor Effect
This is the psychological phenomenon that underlies dowsing, automatic writing, table tipping, and the Ouija board. Quite unconsciously, the participant is moving the hand enough to make the movement of the involved device occur, though he may attribute the motion to the divine or supernatural force in which he believes. In all these events, nothing in the way of information is revealed to the operator except what he already knows. The effect is very powerful with some personalities, and no amount of evidence will disabuse believers in the magical nature of the phenomenon.

I’ve no idea but I know of people did it and after a bizarre episode killed themselves.
Regardless of whether ouija boards work or not, those two believed it enough to take their own lives.

Do NOT mess around with them. They are tools which can open DOORS between the visible and the invisible world. There is only one problem. There is no way to shut the door unless you are one of the wise and know things that most people don't know.
And because that world is invisible, you have no idea who is "speaking" to you. Is it a serial killer pretending to be your Aunt Sally? Is it a demon hoping for a foothold into our world, and that foothold is YOU?

In my opinion, human kinds tendancy to lie or misinterpret the truth far outstrips any evidence of the supernatural.

I wouldn't risk trying to find out.
I'm 100% sure they can mess with people's mind at least
