Is There a Good Argument Against the Bible?

No.

Have you ever heard a good argument against the truth of God’s Word? Now, there are some arguments that are harder to answer than others (though most, I find, are just based on a misunderstanding of what the Bible teaches), but are there any that are actually good arguments?

Well, no, actually, there aren’t! And why not? Because to argue against the Bible, you have to borrow from the Bible in the first place. In other words, just to make your argument against the truth of God’s Word, you are assuming the truth of the Bible.

How does this work? Well, imagine an atheist tells you (as I’ve had them tell me) that they won’t believe the Bible because God is supposedly a genocidal, self-obsessed maniac. This argument assumes being genocidal and self-obsessed (neither of which is true about God, by the way) are both wrong. But why?

In the atheistic worldview, there is no such thing as right or wrong, good or evil. Morality is completely subjective. But this atheist is assuming there are moral absolutes . . . which come from the Bible and the eternal Creator God! So to make his argument, he’s assuming as true what he claims to believe is false.

At our Answers Homeschool Experience at the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum this past spring, Dr. Jason Lisle of the Biblical Science Institute presented on why there are zero rational arguments against the truth of Scripture. It’s a wonderful presentation on presuppositional apologetics, and I encourage you to share it, particularly with teens and young people. You can watch it in full here or on our YouTube channel.

It's really sad when secular scientists can't admit that their judgements in science are wrong being so adamant on being right. The come to the conclusion that science will never discredit the Word of God for fear of being ridiculed for believing the Truth rather than the lie.

While I agree with most of this post of Ken Ham, I would have to say that while it's a common claim, the assertion that atheism inherently leads to moral nihilism (the belief that morality is meaningless) is not universally accepted. Atheists hold diverse views on morality, with some maintaining that morality is subjective and others arguing for objective moral principles derived from humanism, reason, or social constructs.

However, I would have to agree that I have never seen a good argument against the Bible. There are some that don't even read the Bible then claim to know what it says and those that only read one verse without taking the rest of the content and chapter into consideration, are naturally prone to thinking there are contradictions in the Bible. There are not.

The Bible is incomplete, you can thank the Catholic Church for that and most of the other denominations don't know much about the other books that Catholic Church decided not to include when all the books were put compiled to make the Bible... The last book, Revelations, was just based on prophetic dreams some have come true....

It has been compiled over a number of centuries by a diverse group of men, who may conceivably have misinterpreted or misrepresented God's Word.
@SunshineGirl and bits were tossed out during the Council of Nicea because Christian leaders at the time didn't think they fit well enough with the rest of the narrative.

I’m not sure I’ve ever heard a more obvious use of circular logic.
There is no good argument for the bible.

It is a book of collected myths that is full of internal contradictions and just plain silly stuff. Why people take it seriously in the modern world is one of life's great mysteries.

It is without doubt the source of much pain and suffering in this world.

@Malai or an account made by a catfish that gleans pics of buxom Asian women from the Internet.

Edit: looks like I'm going to have to give context now. She (or he) was comparing the Bible to fantasy books like Harry Potter. But now I've been blocked so I guess I won't be able to out her (or him) anymore. Oh well
How about the Bible supports slavery? Is it moral to own another human being?

It's alright to own slaves, but not to covet them.

Religion is a matter of faith. You seem to be looking for factual evidence.

No. Because everyone sees the Biblical Prophecies coming to pass now.
Yes. A book isn’t true because it says in the book that it is true.

@CGS1984 You’d need to use that same book to argue it’s not true because I said so. And since a book can’t purport to be true and false at the same time, by the power invested in me by me, I declare the book false.
@Fukfacewillie It makes great papers for a quiet smoke too.
