The widely cited 99% figure, doesn't capture the full extent of the differences, especially when considering non-coding DNA and structural variations. The large difference does not tally with evolutionary expectations but it is consistent with us being created separately from the animals. God made the first man from dust (Genesis 2:7) and the first woman from his rib (Genesis 2:22), not from any ape-like creature. And humans, unlike other creatures, were made in the image of God (Genesis 1:26, 27), a special creation. This image was not lost but marred at the Fall, so God made humans with a special purpose now and in eternity.

Okay saying we cannot explain the 15% difference doesnt prove god does or doesnt exist nor does it 100% disprove evolution. Indeed island effect allows for genetic mutations and evolutionary steps very quickly.
Regardless to attribute all of it to God is lazy. Through science we will eventually understand. And evolution\genetic adaptation might be gods design. One doesnt have to exclude the other.

While yes many assumption have been proven flawed. No evolution has not been disproved. Indeed look how different fruits are just 12 generations later now seedless is a common place thing. Fully artificail selection but a complete transformation. More than a 15 % variation and that from less than a century. Assuming only natural selection negates any upredictabe events interactions or even extreme weather.

God may have originated in the early mind as what we now call schizophrenia.
The god concept may have pharmacological origins.
God may have created all the heavens and earth and science just wants to know as much as possible, how he did it.
I could go on, but you get the drift.
God is a belief, you either believe or you don't. You can't fake it after all.
Science can't explain God but God can explain science.

Okay, I got your number now. The 'Answers in Genesis' organization of which Ken Ham is a part was formed to combat actual science with pseudo-science. They excuse this admitted deception in the name of Jesus. It's a 'liars for Christ' club centered in Kentucky.
