An insightful quote

Don’t try to reach God with your understanding; that is impossible. Reach him in love; that is possible.
Carlo Carretto
A more insightful quote would be "Don't try to reach God without including His Son, Jesus, as Savior of the world." God said, Jesus is Savior of the world. And if we deny that Jesus is the Savior of the world, then He will deny us before His Father in heaven, as stated in 2 Timothy 2:11

These verses cannot be ignored. They are not suggestions. John 3:17, 18, "For God sent not His son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him, might be saved. He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
@Axeroberts
I don't believe in the bible literally
If we are united followers of God, then we must accept His Word. (Matthew 28:18).

Then you can't say you are a follower of God, because you don't believe in His Word or what it says. We either believe all of it, or not at all. God and His Word are inseparable.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word WAS God." John 1:1

The term "in the beginning was the Word", is a statement of equality. Jesus is not just the Word, He is the Creator, equal with God.

The New Testament writers confirm the Old Testament's claim to be the very Word of God. Repeatedly, the New Testament refers to Old Testament texts, its laws, its claims, and its stories as the actual Word of God. Indeed, the entire New Testament is openly built upon the Old Testament.

Several New Testament texts are explicit in claiming inspiration for the Old Testament. Paul says of the Old Testament: “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work” (2 Tim. 3:16-17). At the beginning of his second letter, the apostle Peter reminds us: “And we have something more sure, the prophetic word, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. ” (2 Pet. 1:19-20).
@Axeroberts Science doesn't have the processes to prove or disprove the existence of God. Science, studies and attempts to explain only the natural world, while God, is supernatural.
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
@LadyGrace exactly. But I believe God is in the natural world which He created. God does not break the laws of nature.
@Axeroberts Right. God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit created it all. You say no one can know God, but that's why Jesus came in the flesh, from heaven, to tell us exactly how to be saved and all about God, and He said in His Word, there will be no excuse for saying we didn't know how to be saved or about who He and His Father are. To say we can't know, is irresponsible and ignoring the Word of God. Jesus is God. He didn't leave us to guess. - 1 John starts with a clear connection between Jesus and God the Father as the beginning and Creator of all things. Another scripture points out that Jesus and His Father are ONE and the same.

[c=BF0000]John 10: 30 ”The Father and I are one.” John 14:8-11 “'Philip,' Jesus replied, 'after I have been with you all this time, you still do not know me? Whoever has seen Me, has seen the Father.

Genesis 1:1 - In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.[/c]

@Axeroberts @Allelse
I don't take the Bible literally. It is a spiritual book after all
I do not get why Christ'ey people say the bible is not literal YET they believe the parts about sautée'ing in hell ARE literal.

What do religious people like to be called anyways? 🤔 Churchey people? help me out here.
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
@CestManan i don't know. I'm not religious. And this quote is not even from the bible 🙄🤣🤣
Why do you think God is a him? You think God has a penis instead of a vagina?
Allelse · 36-40, M
@GoToTheCompound It could have both genitals and get real funky with both genitals!!! Or maybe two penises, two HUGE penises which it uses to fill both holes, or three penises to fill three holes!!! Or it makes more holes and more penises and on and on and on and on for infinity!!!!
