🤔..........It's the usual double standard between men and women.........She looks awesome! Better than some old guy, that's for sure!
LadyGrace · 70-79
That just shows how shallow people are. They could have just asked her to dye it. 🙄
Jeephikelove · 51-55, F
The hypocrisy just doesn’t die. 🙄
Lilymoon · F
@Jeephikelove it's ridiculous
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
I love grey or white hair on ladies
Rutterman · 46-50, M
How ridiculous. She looks fine, and probably looks a lot better than most of the old, graying, and balding guys. I can't imagine the general public is happy about this.
Ducky · 31-35, F
Wow… What year are we in again? That shit ain’t gonna fly, that’s for damn sure!
SmoothKnight · 51-55, M
She looks good. Wth is wrong with those guys?
Lilymoon · F
@SmoothKnight nitwits

She looks good with that color
Lilymoon · F
@cherokeepatti She does!
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Lilymoon Young women have been dying their hair that color.
Lilymoon · F
@cherokeepatti that's true...
PatKirby · M
Why that's blatant age discrimination.
I think she's hot. Yeah I'd tap that.

deadgerbil · 26-30
Lots of double standards. Pretty unfortunate
Lilymoon · F
@deadgerbil it really is
Degbeme · 70-79, M
Bell Media blindsided her. Fucking pricks. 🤬
Jeephikelove · 51-55, F
She looks great with grey hair
Northwest · M
Quelle horreur. I remember, years ago, I was looking for an assistant for our Montreal office, and the agency emailed asking me how old she should be, how tall, and if I preferred any other physical characteristics.
SW-User
Damn, it’s not their business as long as she does her job right and doesn’t come in looking like she’s high on drugs.
Lilymoon · F
@SW-User I know right!
SW-User
@Lilymoon yes, it’s not right that women have to constantly try and look young and sexy while men can look their age without a problem. Oh well, she’s probably going to file a lawsuit against them.
smiler2012 · 56-60
{@lilymoon ] that is ridiculous how can her employees do such a thing and actually think they will get away with it
Lilymoon · F
@smiler2012 shocking really...
Jimmy2016 · 61-69, M
@smiler2012 It happens all the time, unfortunately. People get hired for their looks and also fired for their looks......the employer just can't let it be known that was the reason.....
Where I work, the CEO (female) hired and paid a new female employee (Ph.D.) more starting salary because of her looks. I will say that the new employee was one of the most beautiful women I have ever met. The COO of the company, who is a friend of my wife, told me about this and was a little pissed because the new hire was getting paid 25K more a than the equivalent person in her position.

She is getting paid to look good on camera.
With some jobs, image is everything. The image that the news like to push is youthful beautiful female reporters. Not matronly ones.
They do not have as high of standard for men because no one is really focused on how good men look, it is all about women's looks.

@Lilymoon Part of a woman's value is her good looks and youth or at least her ability to look like it.
No it is not fair. BUT it is not much different than how a man's worth is measured by his status and wealth.
The difference being is when a woman suddenly loses, people feel sorry for her. When a man loses, people joke, laugh, make memes, call him every name in the book...

@Lilymoon you have a point there about Rosie. I do not know her story but yeah she wasn't exactly Christie Brinkley in the looks dept.
There are a lot of double standards when it comes to gender for sure.
There is a good chance Lisa will get her job back and this whole thing is just an attention-grab for ratings since there isn't much else to report right now.

TheGreatLeveler · 36-40, M
While it may be disheartening to be judged for something outside of your control, it's no different for any balding Hollywood actor that is unable to get any acting roles, unless they're on hair loss medication perhaps. Appearances matter in the media.
TheGreatLeveler · 36-40, M
@Lilymoon That's an exaggeration. Women in their 20s and 30s get by fine with their natural looks. Especially in their 20s, when they're generally speaking at their peak. You're also only highlighting the negatives. Older women may get judged more on their looks than older men do, but women also reap the benefits of their looks earlier in life. Men don't share that privilege to the same extent.
CestManan · 46-50, F
@Lilymoon
The weird thing about some female celebrities is they will be BEAUTIFUL but still go under the knife and sometimes end up looking ridiculous.
Like Delta Burke, she was beyond stunning at one point but then plastic surgery happened...
Granted she was younger "before" but she probably would have aged very well.
Most women go under the knife for plastic surgery ... some still in their 20's and 30's ruining their faces.

I doubt the official reason is hair color,if it is, I would think a huge law suit is coming...
Tminus6453 · M
Sounds like theres more to this story... all she had to do was color her hair
Tminus6453 · M
@Lilymoon They followed the rules of their company, or they lose their job...not sure why you think it doesnt happen
Lilymoon · F
@Tminus6453 she wasn't told about her hair they just fired her ... they knew it would cause an uproar. The guy that fired her is getting ousted from his job
Tminus6453 · M
@Lilymoon Whatever....That i dont believe but my point still stands
ExtremeNext · 31-35
Nobody wants to see a woman with grey short hair and sagging tits
Lilymoon · F
@ExtremeNext some people see things a little deeper than you. lol
ExtremeNext · 31-35
@Lilymoon 😏
chuck7882 · 61-69, M
Hopefully she makes a boat load of money from her lawsuit
SW-User
Is this for reals?
Lilymoon · F
@SW-User yeah unfortunately it is 😑
SW-User
@Lilymoon WTH?
the whole world is becoming more vain
the whole world is becoming more vain
Lilymoon · F
@SW-User ever since women entered the workplace it's been a struggle.
romell · 51-55, M
Common its too lame to be believed ..sure must be more
sciguy18 · M
Is this true? She looks fine to me.
Unlearn · 41-45, M
Take that "I believe in aging gracefully" people...
popmol · 26-30, M
odd
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
There's just nothing wrong with that look. I have zero idea of what Canadian law is like, but I doubt that would sit well with a lot of people.
Coppercoil · M
Muhaha.. me do love my testicals.
Lilymoon · F
@Coppercoil I'mma downvote you lol
Coppercoil · M
@Lilymoon for reals the story if truly true and her termination was due to her refusal to dye her hair. Then this is so beyond beyond next level hypocrisy. Im on her side.
bijouxbroussard · F
Sexism is alive and well. Even in Canada, it would seem.
Lilymoon · F
@bijouxbroussard Yup 🙄
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
or so she says
SW-User
Well that is not cool
I can't remember the last time I even watched a television news broadcast (local or otherwise)
It seems so very obsolete
I was sitting in a waiting room yesterday and a tv was on the opposite wall with the volume muted but closed captioning on, and I only occasionally glanced at it, but I could tell it was the Today Show, and I just noticed a couple of passages of captioning text and wondered "Who is this show for, what is even the point of it?"
Any news or weather I get comes from a web browser (Google News, Weather.com), it's very rarely video, and unlike with that brief glimpse of the Today Show I never see interviews with "Lifestyle Influencers" (what does that even mean?)

@SW-User I enjoy the news... the weather, the sports...but I'm sensing the newscasts are biased and only show stories they want you to watch.
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
According to Jesse Brown of Canadaland, LaFlamme was ousted by Michael Melling, a Bell Media Vice President; the two apparently had a disagreement over the budget to cover the Ukrainian-Russian conflict.
Lilymoon · F
@Fukfacewillie so they say....Melling is an idiot
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
@Lilymoon she looks better with grey hair, anyway!
Lilymoon · F
@Fukfacewillie I know so bizarre lol
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
I can’t believe this. Seriously.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
Apparently that’s not the reason…not sure I believe that
bijouxbroussard · F
@iamonfire696 Yeah, they’re going to claim that’s somehow not the reason now that they’re seeing a backlash they didn’t expect. I hope she gets a huge payday behind this. 💰
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@bijouxbroussard So do I. She deserves it. She was a really good news anchor. I can’t see her wanting to go back to CTV even if they offer her job back.
bijouxbroussard · F
@iamonfire696 Exactly.
