Take your time, work on your self worth, or you will likely attract someone who sees your weaknesses and takes advantage. I say this as a person who has had more than one abusive relationship in her time. It can be very dangerous.

@sahi81 It doesn't happen overnight. Listen to yourself, reflect on where your insecurities came from. Start thinking about what boundaries you need to put in place for your own wellbeing. Cast your net a bit wider than just finding a partner. Friends are very important so that you don't pile too much pressure onto your romantic relationships. Just start with small stuff like listening to how you're talking to yourself every day. Change that to more loving language, at first it feels fake and weird, but your words are important and your subconscious is always listening. Look for some hypnosis videos on youtube and listen before you sleep or even while you are asleep. Jason Stephenson is very good, I highly recommend you look up his stuff.

In the past, I've had friends who betrayed me, so I know what that's like.

I honestly think you need to go focus on yourself for awhile. maybe go travel for awhile....just get away.

You need to experience life so you are not so afraid of it.

They might if you're not very careful with who you choose to be your partner.
