Without knowing how old they are I couldn’t say past the most basic level of guessing, no one could

@EBSVC Interesting perspective. Maybe there isn’t really a more advanced civilization and maybe that’s a myth that needs to be debunked too? In other words, the possible fact they could be all on the same plaything field- not one more or advanced than the other just different. And how much of history is true that’s the other thing, who knows.
Haven’t thought of that. You just hear how much advanced these past civilizations were when maybe they weren’t and it’s just not connected how yet. The rabbit hole of mysteries…Thanks.

@MentalDisturbance We have no way of knowing right now
Certainly there are far older stars and planets than ours but that’s all we know

Compared to other species on our planet, we're just infants. Jellyfish have been around at least 500 million years, maybe up to 700 million. Horseshoe crabs are around that age too. Sharks have been around 450 million. Alligators around 250 million. Homo sapiens is not even half a million, with civilization only a few thousand years old.
Thinking about how it took humanity hundreds of thousands of years just to get to the first engine, 300 years to go from the engine to the first airplane, 40 years to get from the skies into outer space, and 20 years to put a man on the moon, our technological potential is still very much undecided.
We went from the first computer to AI within some people's lifetimes. It's crazy to think what life would be like in a few generations. Give us as much time as some other species, and who knows what advances could be made.

MentalDisturbance · 36-40
@Thevy29 now I’m thinking they might not be and we don’t know the truth about that either…?🤔

@MentalDisturbance cause I asked you for evidence of the definition of humanity?
Can't you define humanity then?

We'll never know for sure until we encounter other races!
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
Eh?
I mean...do we have verifiable evidence of advanced non-human civilizations?

@basilfawlty89 What’s verifiable anymore if there was? Thanks for the question.
alongalone · M
Yes if we were an old bunch we would have had this poor planet fucked long ago instead of just getting to it now

Yes there are certainly alien civilisations with thousands or millions of years of advancement on us. They’re probably here right now.. but obviously that they can hide because they’re so much more advanced. They can probably even turn into a human to fool us.
