Compared to other species on our planet, we're just infants. Jellyfish have been around at least 500 million years, maybe up to 700 million. Horseshoe crabs are around that age too. Sharks have been around 450 million. Alligators around 250 million. Homo sapiens is not even half a million, with civilization only a few thousand years old.

Thinking about how it took humanity hundreds of thousands of years just to get to the first engine, 300 years to go from the engine to the first airplane, 40 years to get from the skies into outer space, and 20 years to put a man on the moon, our technological potential is still very much undecided.

We went from the first computer to AI within some people's lifetimes. It's crazy to think what life would be like in a few generations. Give us as much time as some other species, and who knows what advances could be made.
