@Crazywaterspring my father got prostate cancer (his father died from prostate cancer and his mother died from breast cancer) and the doctor wanted to do surgery right away. He told him he had some business to take care of first, went to Arizona to a medicine woman and got treated with herbs and came back and had his pre-op tests done and there was no sign of cancer. I think he stayed out in Arizona a couple weeks.
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
@cherokeepatti Medical reasons are a big part why I'm retiring in SE Asia. I would be eligible for their national healthcare and their doctors, nurses and hospitals are quite competent. Governor Abbott tort refomed things so a patient or their family can't sue for malpractice.

Good choice, I've chosen Panama myself.

I think the nurses clean your body and put you in a nappy before shoving you into the freezer for the fortnight it takes your relatives to decide on how to bury you. Then they go through your stuff like a free garage sale.
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
@Thevy29 That's why you never wear any jewelry to the hospital. Some jackal will help themselves even if the patient is asleep.

Energy can not be created or destroyed. It just transfers...in this case, back to its source.
This. Life. Is the energy's human experience.

@saragoodtimes I can't, she would laugh us into oblivion.

This is an important point you bring up here. I think that apart from being revived from clinical death, as in a hospital or emergency room setting, no one really knows unless you actually die. People who go through these near-death/out of body experiences describe a similar ordeal - they rise above and see their body being worked on by a medical team, then they go down this tunnel of light and are reunited with loved ones and sometimes meet a powerful, yet peaceful, being of light who asks you if you'd like to stay or go back. For the ones that decide to come back, they're suddenly thrust back into their body and continue this life. I figure for those who decide to stay, well we won't be hearing from them anytime soon. They all emphasize an overwhelming sense of peace come over them and say not to be afraid of death, that it's only a transition.
Scripture calls it a soul or spirit, pseudo-science and other philosophies and people refer to it as an astral body. Either way, due to these first-hand and consistent near-death/out of body reports we keep getting from those who've actually died and came back I think that our living essence carries on after life permanently and is immutable. But I cannot prove that, I would have to die first.

Probably nothing.
I’d like to think I’d see my family again. But it’s possible death is too massive a concept for people to cope with so they’ve invented afterlife to cope with the finality of it.

We come back to the Heavenly Father.
Either with Jesus Christ or in the Judgement seat.
Although our worldly consciousness won't be there in Heaven. So we won't remember from earth. Same thing we came from Heaven through Mother's womb. We don't have consciousness from Heaven to earth
If it was? It wouldn't be heaven

@FreestyleArt I agree, except for the part that we don’t remember our time on earth. I believe we do.

People cry and hopefully fulfill your burial (or not) wishes. Someone boxes up your stuff and puts it in a dumpster. The sun rises the next day and everyone moves forward, maybe thinking about you every now and then.
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
I hope they wash our hair and brush our teeth before they lay us down for eternity.
Well nothing. Once our brains cease to function there isn't really an "us" anymore. I 100% believe we will be in the same place we were before we were born.
MountainMonk89 · 51-55, M
Fired from my job for something as trivial as proper nomenclature. I just asked “regular or extra crispy?”
Apparently the correct terms are…
“Burial or cremation.” 🤦🏻

Either the Lord Jesus Christ has paid for your sins...or... your headed for a long unfruitful eternity.

@SW-User I wonder what happened to the poor people that lived in... say, Central/South Africa or the Pacific Islands in the years BC ???

SW-User
@walabby I'm not sure, I've wondered myself. But the Bible does give us hints, and we do know that the Lord is fair and just. Keep in mind that we all deserve justice, ... but the Lord didn't offer mercy to all.
Still, though I'm no theologian, I believe that all face a moment... even if it's between world's, when they get a chance to have their sins paid for.

@jackson55 I believe that our personal identity will disappear when we die, and our souls will go back to a huge soul pool, like raindrops which pour into our lake. The substance of the raindrop is still there, but its identity is not.
(I live by a lake, as you know, and the lake has a lot of influence on me, spiritually...)

@PhoenixPhail Not trying to be argumentative, especially on this topic beings as it can be very sensitive to a lot of people.
I have hallucinated from lack of oxygen to the brain and it was very, very vivid. The only reason I knew it was a hallucination was because of the events that followed and recovering from the event my brain returned to normal function.
This was one of the events from my life that cause me to believe what I do about the here after.
Think about it. Your brain is you. It is every feeling you have and every thought you think. So with that minimized version of what I am trying to convey in mind, what would it take to cause someone to believe in dragons? Just an example.
With our understanding of the real world we know that there are no nor ever have been any dragons on this planet. No proof. But there are books about them. There are even people that believe they actually were real and they have even found a fossil that resembles a dragon. But what if say a person, non-believer, was to be involved in an automobile accident and they suffered a closed head injury. A closed head injury is damage to the brain caused from the brain rushing forward, inside the skull, and pushing the protective layer of fluid away and the brain makes contact with the skull.
Now remember the brain is everything you think.
Now the brain is damaged and isn't working right. So who is to say that they are going to be able to discern from what is reality and what is just a reaction to the damage.
Just like LSD can alter perception so can brain damage.
So in this state the person has a vivid memory of the accident site and them laying on the ground dying and they see a dragon fly over the seen. Circling as tho it were interested in the event, then flying off.
Now hallucinations are a common occurrence in people with brain damage. So how do they know that it didn't really happen??? There brain says it did. No one else there was looking up to see or not to see it. So this person could choose to believe that they actually saw a dragon or that it was a vivid result of their brain damage.
After reading this i should just delete it. I won't because i worked hard on it, but, I should because I am in no way attempting to breach anyone's faith.
This is just my reasoning to what I wrote earlier.
