Communism is an economic model, democracy a form of government. And you're speaking of freedom of press, essentially, which can be either guaranteed or suppressed in the both of them, as neither says anything inherently to it.
@Elessar Things also get messy when you ask "what version of democracy are you talking about?"
Gloomy · F
False
Also communism is a stateless, classless society you probably meant socialism, which is a way to structure society independantly of the governing system.
Gloomy · F
@thewindupbirdchronicles It's just frustrating when you make the false claims Socialist states were communist.
@Gloomy I never did, check my replies. I said socialism has only been tried once.
@Gloomy But it's ample evidence to suggest (for me) no political, nor economic system will ever hold the fabric of what being human is. Why I veer away from these conversations.

And in facism the utterance of blatant lies and falsehood is considered "alternative facts"
SW-User
@Longpatrol just like Kelly Ann said, we have alternative facts.

Communism is a system built upon lies, deception and illusion. Democracy if abused by Communists in power is not immune to mob rule.

We in the US have been given a Constitutional Republic which has been corrupted by the Communists who have seized power through massive voter fraud.

Once Communists seize power they never relinquish it. A low IQ willfully ignorant compliant citizenry is their best friend,
InHeaven · F
Idk. I’ve never experienced a true democracy
Freeranger · M
Pick your own poison. Democracy is a solid fence which forces Communism to become a good neighbor me thinks.
Really · 80-89, M
@Freeranger Just fight it out among your self
Brasceo · 41-45, M
@Freeranger quit thinking it's not working for you
@Brasceo telling people what to think? Quit being an authoritarian douche.
False on both counts.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow but the science gets done
kartoffelkopf2 · 36-40, M
"democracy is the dictation of the dumb"

the majority of people are either brainwashed or brainless
@kartoffelkopf2 True. Which is why Democracy is the second worst political system. The worst is everything else.
Spotpot · 41-45, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow To the contrary the opposite is true compared to any other poltical system.
@Spotpot If you believe that I have a bridge to sell you. At least if we are talking so called western style representative "democracy."
Disgustedman · 61-69, M
Communism censors the truth.

Democracy allows it all to be spoken.
Disgustedman · 61-69, M
@Roundandroundwego in war always Fair.
@Disgustedman Nice job proving you don't know what those words mean but studied your cold war talking points real good.
Disgustedman · 61-69, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow do you think I really care?
Communism is the belief that we can and should do better than the free market for ourselves, as democracies.
Obviously NATO is capable of killing us. You're not going to let communist people win. Americans are getting that pesky ecosystem our of the way, too. We lost. Communism can't save you from the final solution to life which we are.

Will there’s no sense crying over every mistake
Brasceo · 41-45, M
So stupid dumb commies
Brasceo · 41-45, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow fuck head I don't need to read a book to answer common sense go eat bull cock
@Brasceo You are also announcing to the world you have no idea what common sense is either. Not to mention common sense is often wrong. Consensus doesn't magically make something factual.

But that distinction is above your ability to understand.
Brasceo · 41-45, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow stick your head up someone elses ass you super smart genius
Really · 80-89, M
This appears to be largely an argument about semantics - what the participants want certain words to mean; but pretending to be a discussion about about the structure & governance of societies.

No doubt it's exactly what the OP was fishing for. 😄
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
Democracy ends up becoming an oligarchy. Which is where we are now. So I can see why someone would assume that but a true democracy the answer is false. America is no longer a true democracy. They just self proclaim to be one
Elessar · 26-30, M
@DeluxedEdition Not necessarily, there are several healthy democracies all over the world, it's not that the US is the only democracy or even the healthiest, neither currently nor historically.

What kills democracy is

1) inequality, allowing very rich people to accrue more and more money (which traslates to power, the moment they start using that money to buy politicians, media outlets, set up propaganda machines, and so forth) in order to de-facto become oligarchs, or get away with crimes unpunished, and I may agree with you that's the direction you're taking

2) the widespread idea that "we need a strong leader to fix the country" or "voting and not voting is just the same", "all choices bad" or anything sounding like that which gets people disenfranchised to do anything to fight against point (1) and at a later stage turns into "yeah, s/he may be a dictator, but still better than the chaos we'd have otherwise". Which is the exact kind of mentality that keeps and kept people like Putin high in the polls and safe from being overthrown for decades.

Neither does any inherently
This is a silly question
