Charitably, I prefer to think he was in a lot of emotional and mental pain to be using Ketamine, and so many other drugs. He had been in a supervised ketamine therapy program which usually is for depression and anxiety, although the presence in the stomach and length of time from his last clinical infusion indicate he was using it orally and unsupervised as well. The other mixture of drugs, and the comments of his household assistant, indicate that he was on a rollercoaster of drug usage unfortunately not uncommon in performers. Call it the Elvis Syndrome: you take uppers to "be on stage" and put up with the demands, and then downers to try and get some relief. And then it becomes addictive.

He was an addict, who couldn't get it under control. Sad.

not unexpected
can't imagine "drowning" in the hot tub without drugs/alcohol being involved (unless somebody held his head down)
addiction is an ugly thing

Sorry but he was to stupid to know better
another privileged kid didn't know how good he had it

@metaldog We can’t know from the outside if he had it that good. Many people who become addicts are self-medicating inner demons, depression, etc. He had wealth and fame but he wouldn’t be the first celebrity who was missing other things. It’s tragic.

I don't think he was trying to kill himself but it sounds like being on ketamine was dangerous. I don't know much about ketamine but what I read on the internet, but he had to have known it was dangerous to be in the water like that. A couple of people have died that way, famous people.

@samueltyler2 and depression..our hospitals administer ketamine IVs
@Wiseacre Under very close medical supervision while in patient, Perry was not taking it under supervision, nor was he in a facility.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Wiseacre on research protocols.
There's no possible way he could get that much ketamine from a clinic. He had as much in his body as some people get for an operation. I think it was a suicide.

Ketamin is often referred to as the memory drug.
In that it can give you a high but leave you with no memory of your physical pain afterwards.
More to come on this one I'm sure

It's sad.
These things always make me wonder why some can stop using and some can't. There must be a brain switch somewhere.
May he rest in peace now:

What were the results

Uh, I feel badly for an addict, but he kinda promised.
RedBaron · M
He’s dead with no evidence of foul play, so it doesn’t matter now.

Heard it was from ketamine
He overdosed with a party drug, lying to everyone that he was clean.

@BlueGreenGrey I don't block and I don't really see too much anger from my comments. You can't make a response without adding some aggression in it. I would get that treated before it completely gnaws away at you. I would start with unplugging from the digital world this kind of access to information isn't for everyone and some people just can't handle it
