If you can afford to donate $19 US a month to any of the estimated 1,472 charities/worthy causes

asking for your hard-earned money in a myriad of TV commercials, which one would you opt for?

Gibbon · 70-79, M
Saint Jude Childrens Hospital.

I seriously consider ASPCA but after talking to local shelter they don't do a damn thing to help them.
@Gibbon

I totally understand. To me Danny Thomas is a hero. He and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital are forever linked.

None. I buy clothes in charity shops and donate those I no longer wear to them. And I pay taxes to a government that provides for those in need.

I'm not convinced that the charities that work so hard to get subscribers are necessarily better than those that don't.

Homeless shelters, prisoner welfare organisations . . trying to fill the gaps in government funding and public support.
Convivial · 26-30, F
@SunshineGirl you mean the role of government...
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@Convivial Things that should be universal and unsaid but are the popular options to cut during difficult times.
Convivial · 26-30, F
@SunshineGirl the low hanging fruit...

I think the only charity that advertises on TV that we support is St. Jude's Children's Hospital. All the rest of our donations go to local causes.
