Depends on if their situation is of their own making or not.

I once helped a family who lost their home when their business failed. It didn’t mean I’m going to assist every homeless junky on the street.

I think there are a number of good principles from the New Testament that remind us of the importance for helping others. One verse from one of the Apostle Paul's Epistles stands out.

Do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. - Philippians 2:4

It's important to a point . It's good to help others but not to the point where we are enabling their helplessness ...also depends on the situation as well

IF...............They are willing to work hard, have common sense, nice people, clean then I am all for it but that leaves out liberals and most liberal educated people under 60.
