I love elegant things like straw-boaters, ribbons in the hair and piano fingers. Also edwardian clothes.
I think people want this, they just don't realise.

Most fashion industries promote concepts of elegance because it sells well. It is not "rare" at all.
hungryartistXoX · 22-25, F
@Miram Yes, exactly! Besides that, you will find many grown women trying hard to have a cute voice, a super small and short body, and much more. I know it's very sad, but it seems everyone here is fine with it.

The emphasis on youth as measure of beauty exists in all cultures, in varying degrees. And not just recently. It is very old tradition. You know that as someone who has a history interconnected to Chinese empires.. there is a reason wrinkles are looked down on and avoided like the plague.
Some people are moving away from those standards though and learning to accept aging as natural, and beauty as variant.

@Miram Agree, I'm very happy to hear that some people are starting to accept that aging is a natural part of being human 🥰💛

OG’s like me for sure.
My mom was a very beautiful woman. When she dressed for an occasion, it was always elegantly and stylish. But never revealing or crass.
She set the standard for how I think a woman should dress.

I prefer the word classy. And, yes, they exist.

Never tacky! It's refreshing and appreciated by moi, in a vulgar world.

I always associated it with rich people or people who have jobs that require them to look very representable. You can make yourself look clean, neat, decently dressed for budget prices but for truly elegant look you need to air your wallet a bit more. That's at least my opinion.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
I appreciate elegance, but only the really stars on the red carpet can pull that off without problems.
TexChik · F
There's nothing wrong with elegance.
