Are there still people who appreciate elegant women in this era?

I always thought that being an elegant and old-fashioned woman would be boring in today's times. All my friends said it was tacky. Thankfully, my boyfriend appreciates me for being myself.

Most fashion industries promote concepts of elegance because it sells well. It is not "rare" at all.

@Miram Oh, it must be very lucky to live among the "majority" of the fashion industry like that. Here, all women have to be cute and try to look like babies with childlike traits to be liked by society 😓

You're from Taiwan! What child like traits? Are you referring to plastic surgeries they do to change facial proportions and widen the eyes?

@Miram Yes, exactly! Besides that, you will find many grown women trying hard to have a cute voice, a super small and short body, and much more. I know it's very sad, but it seems everyone here is fine with it.

The emphasis on youth as measure of beauty exists in all cultures, in varying degrees. And not just recently. It is very old tradition. You know that as someone who has a history interconnected to Chinese empires.. there is a reason wrinkles are looked down on and avoided like the plague.

Some people are moving away from those standards though and learning to accept aging as natural, and beauty as variant.

@Miram Agree, I'm very happy to hear that some people are starting to accept that aging is a natural part of being human 🥰💛
