Motivation is largely linked to inspiration, at least for me. And neither are that predictable, I have found.

@ElRengo This is fantastic

@WildernessWriterExplorer
Thank you.
Sometimes and frequently motivation comes from doing what is needed.
Of course there are other more joyful sources but overcoming life challenges is not a bad one.

I have never been motivated by money or success. I suppose I have been driven to do what I felt God wanted me to do in a given situation.

Setting a task and completing it once I set it in motion.

Like setting my forestry farm up for prime hardwood production and wildlife habitat fishing and hunting.

Building my dream home now and have been doing it out of pocket and all by myself except for the initial framing, electrical, and plumbing work that I am trying to get done now. The interior is all my hands and minds work.

So, setting a task and completing it no matter how big of a task.

@cherokeepatti Hate cawwffee ;)

@Nimbus I need to stop drinking it. Had a mammogram & then an ultrasound, they found a cyst.My primary care doctor said yesterday that coffee can cause it. I had told him I believed it was because I hadn’t been able to eat much cruciferous veggies and some fruits since my digestive tract was so inflamed and that with not enough exercise probably caused it. I had also stopped drinking coffee for almost a year but started back when I started feeling better because it made me “regular” in morning and I could get up and get around and go places earlier in the day due to that.

@cherokeepatti Well the caffeine in cawwffee is nasty, no good for you.
I haven't had caffeine in over 10 years now.
It switches from time to time

Mostly free of failure
It's purpose. Cheesy thing to say but it's true.

Having a purpose. A goal. Something to keep one's self busy with, gives us all motivation.
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@Teggy how do you know what your purpose is?

@Teggy Agreed.
Jesus Christ.
JustNik · 51-55, F
Need, basically. Either the needs of someone or something I care about or my own personal physical/mental/emotional needs.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
I'm not sure. I just do things.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@DeluxedEdition I don't know. I never think of not doing the things that need to be done. Maybe a sense of duty or just knowing they must be done? Maybe a desire to have things in order and to take care of things?
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@JimboSaturn Why do you care if they're done? It's easier to sit around
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@DeluxedEdition Hmm I suppose because the benefits of doing things when they need to be done make my life easier and more rewarding. If I get things done, I can enjoy other things. Also, when you have family and responsibilities, you do it out of love for your family as well..I think it's just part of being an adult
Honestly? I can’t wait for motivation. I have to do all the shitty things because I have to.
Carissimi · 70-79, F
I’m sure there is more than one, but one of the greatest motivators is *shame*.
Sevendays · M
Feeling good. That can be emotionally or physically.

Death, Taxes, and control

My pets motivate me to get to get up every day.

Knowing that things will not just work out on their own no matter how much you want them to. Putting wishes out into the universe mean nothing unless you’re willing to put the effort into creating the path that’ll eventually…maybe…hopefully lead you to the results you desire.

The body of humanity has many members and those members shift their order as the old are ushered out and the new take their place. Some are the arms legs hands and feet that move it forward. If one learns standing walking and talking before first learning to fix the eyes and hear the voices they might go through life seeing and hearing little while speaking at length about very little.

If you listen closely you can hear flutes pretending they're violins.
