Will Twitter survive Elon

Or will it become a $44 Billion hole in Elons bank account?
The majority of Twitter staff have resigned and I’m pretty sure there’s more to follow them out the door.

It's been so enjoyable watching the smug mandarins at Twitter lose their collective minds over Musk's meddling.

Just remember:

It's a private company and he can do what he wants.
Free speech doesn't mean you can say whatever you want without consequences, it just means the government can't sanction you for what you say.
If you don't like it, go to another social media website. 😆
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@justanothername Pfft, some do, depends on the product and audience. Who's a right wing extremist in this scenario? Musk? He's a Libertarian.
justanothername · 51-55, M
@SumKindaMunster Obviously not Elon. But clearly not obvious to a knuckle dragger like you.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@justanothername Yes yes, go ahead with the dumb insults, its obvious you can't have a civil conversation. Anything else? Wanna throw another brown shirt reference in there? It's not like you have the intellectual capacity to have a relevant conversation with me.

The majority of the staff have been terminated. It's interesting how little staff it takes to run that site when the site is no longer involved with actively peddling socialist propaganda and shadow banning conservatives.
justanothername · 51-55, M
@TexChik Some have been terminated others have resigned due to the imposed work requirements.
TexChik · F
@justanothername I am sure that broke Musk's heart.
justanothername · 51-55, M
@TexChik Unlikely. It’s like watching a train wreck in slow motion.
Those who haven't been terminated are quitting because they don't want to play by the boss's rules. 80% of those terminated were developers. Reports are out that developers were working 4 hours a week. Fake accounts and bots will be replaced by people who were banned. Sounds like a win for Elon and for democracy.
I don't think Twitter will survive. I think Musk's ultimatum might leave him with less than 1000 employees. Before Musk took over, Twitter had 15000 employees.

"Twitter could lose 75 PERCENT of its remaining 3,700 workers, as hundreds resign and others ignore deadline warning they'd be fired if they fail to click link sent by Elon Musk saying they want to keep job"

@DeluxedEdition Preach it sister. Twitter sucks and the only reason anyone is upset is because Elon broke up their smug little circle jerk and it seemingly drives them batty. 😆
@DeluxedEdition
why is it liberals have no issue with censorship until it's directed toward them?
False premise. The liberals I keep track of agree that moderation of social media is necessary. Without moderation things tend to fill up with spam & porn. Like I say, false premise.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@ElwoodBlues Moderation of social media is absolutely necessary.

No idea, I've never used the place -- but I am kind of hoping it tanks, gets replaced by something new and responsibly run, and he loses his investment.
Hope they all end up living on the streets of SF. Lazy jerks,

Back in 1997, there was another company on the verge of collapse that experienced new leadership and a mass firing of employees...

Today, it's the largest tech company in the world; you know it as Apple...
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@wildbill83 Do you remember it was Bill Gates and Microsoft that helped save Apple??? I wonder if Bill Gates regrets that now...
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
twitter has done nothing but grow since elon took over accounting to web analytics. Twitter staff deserved to be fired.
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@DeluxedEdition and in regards to social media network popularity twitter ranks #2 behind facebook leading

Who cares? Just another Internet waste of time.
justanothername · 51-55, M
@hunkalove The biggest issue for Twitter is how it got the bulk of its revenue through selling users app data to advertisers.
Somehow Elon Musk developed the Donald Trump casino touch.
ron122 · 41-45, M
The ones that don't want to work resigned.
It might be better asked, will Elon survive Twitter. He is used to success, and faltering a thousand times now.
Strictmichael75 · 61-69, M
It will implode
And good riddance
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@Strictmichael75 it's done nothing but grow since elon took over lol
pancakeslam · 41-45, M
of course it will survive just due to its brand as long as he keeps the domain name. I don't see why a simple make a comment website needs 10000 engineers. how many people run similar Worlds?

It will become a scaled out Truth Social

i'm just really baffled at this point. was the endgame to scuttle twitter? if so, it could have been accomplished for a fraction of the 44bn investment?
