Elon is firing 50% of Twitters staff

Poll - Total Votes: 19
No, Twitter sucked.
What’s Twitter
Yes I care, my success was built on my Twitter followers
I don’t care, stupid Democrats created Twitter.
The fat orange one uses Truth Social with all his other brown shirt retards so that’s what I’ll use

And changing the way Twitter moderates content.

Does anyone care?

I think the moderation was often heavy handed... so it needed some amendment but not too much.. I don't want to see Trump calling to his storm troopers on it again.. He needs to be somewhere else.... he is not fit to be with civilized people,
justanothername · 51-55, M
@pdqsailor1 Very very well said!
pdqsailor1 · 61-69, M
@justanothername thank you
Yes, because this is backfiring hilariously in Elon Musk's big stupid face.

I've never understood what's so special about "Twitter". You can claim on Twitter the Moon is made of green cheese and Biden is a reptiloid shape-shifter from outer space – and you'll have 30,000,000 followers. 😐
Why use Twitter when we have something as informative and reliable as SimilarWorlds? 🥳
justanothername · 51-55, M
@helenS SW is a nieche site but not a site for Elites. I’m just a regular person.
justanothername · 51-55, M
@helenS As pathetic as it seems Twitter is also about instant gratification and consumerism. One person with 1 million followers tweets that they are wearing a brand of shoes, suddenly 100,000 people all buy those shoes. That shoe company gets a big bump in sales.
Instagram works on a similar concept.

Companies then pay users to promote their products. There’s your Twitter income.

With regards to moderating, if moderating of user comments helps grow the investment by attracting advertisers then moderating is a good thing. There’s no “woke” about it.
justanothername · 51-55, M
@TexChik You missed the whole point about why Twitter was successful. It’s not about the influence of “leftist media” it’s about advertisers attracted to a MASSIVE user base. You attract advertisers then you attract $$$. $$ attract shareholders. Advertisers don’t want their products to be associated with right wing extremism because it hurts revenue. You lose revenue you lose earnings. Lose earnings and your share price drops.

Don’t care. I’ve never used Twitter.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@jackson55 Me either, but it does seem a shame people are losing jobs over the idiot's plans.
jackson55 · M
@ChipmunkErnie I suppose that’s true if you’re a liberal.
justanothername · 51-55, M
@ChipmunkErnie Redundancies usually follow take overs or reduced earnings. The issue is with the way the redundancies are happening.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
Twitter is a private company and can do what it wants. They can get a job.
justanothername · 51-55, M
Stupid Democrats may have created it but the fat Republican jerk off was addicted to it.
Ontheroad · M
Twitter? Is that what a twit uses?
Elon is about making money. and thats exactly what he's going to do. not waste it keeping folks on his staff who will do nothing but bad mouth him. he's gonna put wheels on em.

Maybe i will leave SW and join twitter now that its not the echo chamber of nazis'.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
As soon as I get the check for that 100 shares I sold back to them....
Quetzalcoatlus · 46-50, M
I haven’t used Twitter in years…
Fishy · F
Sw is basically the only social website I actually hang out on,

But I do use sites like twitter and Instagram etc because I'm trying to get by small business running

As for the layoffs?
I'm not sure if that effects the Twitter users? Or just the actual twitter staff?
I have no idea lol 😬
Ynotisay · M
I don't personally care. Social media isn't my lane. Advertisers care though. So my hope is that the con man, who's already whining about activists trying to end free speech, goes down in a big flaming ball of shit.
Elessar · 26-30, M
Being silent doesn't mean not caring.

I'm just sitting here, enjoying seeing $44bln melting under the the sun lol
MrAboo · 36-40, M
Honestly I couldn’t care less about a social media platform. This is the beginning of a new chapter in the history of Twitter.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
He's planning ahead for the crash because everyone with integrity will be leaving?
Ferric67 · M
That's par for the course when it comes to Elon
pdqsailor1 · 61-69, M
He is chopping the review and compliance section. He intends to allow negative and in appropriate content. @Ferric67
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
Good thing I have never used Twitter. 😌
eli1601 · 70-79, M
Only 50%. What a slacker 😆

@LvChris reading up on the layoffs now, it seems he'll end up backfilling those roles later. how does elon justify snap layoffs, paying penalties to those laid off employees due to lack of notice, spending money to backfill those vacant roles again later because those jobs are necessary, and then paying restitution to the original laid off workers for wrongful dismissal? I think elon is a smart man, but he needs smart people to manage his businesses so he can make money doing what he's good at....

I really do hope the other workers quit and make Twitter crash and make Elon's financial backers in the Twitter buyout very, very anxious

The remaining employees can't even continue to work from home ... what century is supposedly enlightened Elon Musk living in?
tenente · 100+, M
who uses twitter? 🤔 honest question. I don't. None of my friends or coworkers use it....
eli1601 · 70-79, M
@tenente Celebrities, athletes, politicians
tenente · 100+, M
@eli1601 right (or is it their entourage on their behalf) don't they copy and paste the same content on facebook, snap, insta, etc? seems regular folks don't use twitter that much and really, who needs it? I hope elon (or someone) does something new and exciting in social media - maybe twitter will change the game, or someone else will....
