I wonder how many people here got blocked because of a misunderstanding or a poorly phrased text.

Face to face you have tone and demeanour to better read a person. I think here people scan read something, and fly off the handle.

I wonder how certain individuals here cope in real life without a block button. Somethings you just have to be an adult about and push on.

There are people here who’s posts don’t resonate with me but I can sometimes have a conversation with them, so I tend to mute them so their posts are not in my feed but we can still connect.

It happens. Yet no more or less than any other reasons.

I was once blocked for not liking ALL their posts. Even PMed me before blocking. 🤷🏻‍♂

Blocking doesn't even need a reason. Some people share their block lists.

@DeWayfarer i recall one user here sharing their block list and urging others to block those people!!! Unreal!
Basically saying to others, i've had a disagreement with these peeps....if you are friends with me.... i expect you to block them too!!
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@RubySoo I have seen such posts by many. Because I access some posts through private browser sessions.

That allows me to see those who have blocked me.
Happened to me several times. Those people are likely not coping well in real life which makes using the block button all the more satisfying.

However there are of course good reasons to use the block button, no quarrel with that.

Yes I replied to a post saying "we don't care what you think" but I was trying to speak as if I was someone else or imitating people. Well the person took it as if I don't care what she thinks.

I understand. Works the opposite way though. I don’t know many people in real life who openly abuse someone because they don’t like the stuff they say or their profile picture or what they stand for.

I'm sure it happens often; people will read it in a tone based on how they feel inside.
Well if someone is gonna start attacking my character instead of my arguments, then they're just gonna get blocked. Now I could waste my time engaging in a flame war with them (as I've done many times in the past), but I've learned to pick my battles and I'd rather spend time on stuff I enjoy. Same with those that resort to logical fallacies and double down on it; not even worth communicating with further.
i got blocked by an individual for being me...that's ok though. i feel very sorry them.

That's part of my problem. The great ones are often misunderstood at first.

A lot of people are on edge these days so I would not be surprised.

One of life's mysteries 🤭

Used to happen s lot when I was more active
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@ImNotHungry If they confront you personally they aren't real. It's just that simple. 😂
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
I dont agree. Most people on here are adults, if people take things or “texts” too personally then there is a bigger problem there. 🤷🏾‍♂
WintaTheAngle · 41-45, M
@Moneyonmymind Suit yourself.
Moneyonmymind · 31-35, M
@WintaTheAngle with a response like that you are clearly one of them softies 😬🤦🏾‍♂ smh
WintaTheAngle · 41-45, M
@Moneyonmymind Not at all. I find it challenging to take anything that happens here seriously.
Zonuss · 46-50, M
Some people are so weird nowadays.
The sad part is that some members here are losing their edge and grip on life. Oh well life goes on. ☺

There is no shortage of people in this world. Chill
WintaTheAngle · 41-45, M
@LordShadowfire Surely you know by now I never take advice or recommendations that begin with “y’all.”

It sounds like a braying donkey.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, MVIP
@WintaTheAngle Really? I always thought it made me sound like a cowboy.
WintaTheAngle · 41-45, M
@LordShadowfire You could be right. I was always with the Indians myself. 🙂
Wireman · 31-35, M
I think zometimes they expect you to follow their ideas. Too bad, if it hapoens and make them happy, then so be it. F them.

Tone can make a huge difference
