@Jayciedubb Never heard of paltalk in the Asian region. The advantage of skype was the directory where we can search for strangers to connect. and the about me was useful to know the person. I loved CraigsList Personal too for connection by emails as we can write and converse as much, until personals were banned along with EP.

@in10RjFox i miss EP as much as the next guy, but i also remember how bad it was getting and how fast it was slipping. There were mods there who were drunk on power and would lock people out of their accounts for no reason except a disagreement.
I had an acquaintance there who had connections and we disagreed about a ban on people of a certain group of people who are known to ban groups of people. ..it was in public and i was making valid points whike she was acting on hate, like the group she hated does.
Next thing i knew, i was locked out of my account that i had for years. I was able to find an ep portal and explained my situation. I was back online shortly after

@Jayciedubb EP days were fabulous. The only thing is they could have introduced subscription, which would have prevented a lot of ghosts . People had time to converse and not judgemental, until the genZ came in and started using it like FB. EP was never a place for selfies.
No, the name cones from the original idea and intent thst the site was going to be a news and info hub. "WHERE DID YOU FIND THAT OUT?". " I read it on reddit." Its a play on read-it.
As for havjng a hard time and gettjng banned.. thats just what reddit has become. The karma system is awful fkr a new user. Reddit users, and especially mods often don't much care for sarcasm or fooling around, especially from newish users. Its tough because the mods can fo whatever they want really and they're arent that many of them, and most of them moderate dozens and dozens or more subreddits. So annoying one mod on one sub can get you banned from untold number of subs.
I like reddit but you kind of have to navigate it knowing you're in a loony bin run and over represented by a bunch overly-sensitive and naive shut-ins with autism.

@FloorGenAdm I've always wondered which one that is.. would it be Florida, due to geographical location, or New Hampshire, due to perceived mean intellect of their residents. Deep South versus deep thinkers to represent the Deep State LOL

@DanielsASJ ok. Now we're talking.. you get it. As far as I can tell, it's an acronym of some kind. I mean, I think there's only one kind of acronym but maybe it's an Audio Only acronym. Like maybe it's a word of three syllables that sound like they start with those letters but it's not in our language. It's like if you say the words flower and Bridge in I believe cantonese, it won't sound anything like either. And it could get you kicked off Reddit if you spell it the way it sounds in the presence of the type of person who's into reporting people

@Jayciedubb Yep. Reddit is known for reading and voting (on submissions and comments), so the (Voat) owners probably figured they would go with the latter.
