@bijouxbroussard Strummer was an upper middle class dropout who became one of the main figures in the British punk revolution.
The Sex Pistols burnt bright and faded away but the Clash were arguable a more articulate protest band. The had an album called Sandinista and write a song about the Spanish Civil War. They also used reggae and blues influences in with pink and classical British rock.
Strummer has sadly passed but he was always someone who backed the underdog.
