Anyone go on Facebook here?

You gotta love all these old acquaintances or friends who are dating, getting married, having kids or have three teens already now, making strides at their jobs, and Taking awesome vacations!! And posting this daily ...

And I can't help think to myself, What in the HELL am I doing??? Ohhh I remember. Nothing like that. Thanks anxiety! Thanks PTSD. My post is like what deal I got on an iced coffee. Or sometimes a nature pic😬🪻. True, those are both cool things. Albeit tiny when you look at most of friends' posts😨

Maybe one day I'll kick this anxiety in the freaking Ass and get going on my own wants or dreams!!! Hey it Could happen.

I think mine has been with me since my early teen years but back then it was called worrying. Anxiety didn't have a name in 1989.

When I get anxiety today, it's the same feeling I'd get back then. So I've definitely had it most of my life but always got told I worry a lot.

Could happen. How old were u when anxiety kicked in? Do u have a friend who u can talk to about it?

Also things like phone, Internet n forums etc, they were invented with good intentions by the owner / founders. Rest is on our perception how we see these things. If Internet didn't exist it would have been exposure from magazines: succesful people, seeing big mansions.

@Sazzio I was 24 when anxiety all started. And was a vicious cycle. So I've had the debilitating condition for 19 years wow. Unfortunately have lost touch with friends.
Im in therapy which helps a tiny bit but I'm also reading some new books on PTSD.

@Coralmist Ok. I have a friend who's got ongoing mental health problems for 10 years now. Unfortunately am not a Therapist or anything and I don't wanna hear his problems. Am not at work, not at home where problems persist. We r trying to have a nice time and BOOM! This guy comes up with his anxiety.

But glad you're seeing a Therapist i too am in counselling for my past reasons. Not ptsd though fortunately I haven't suffered any traumatic events.

I can't help but think you might benefit greatly from owning a motorcycle! Not sure why, something about your aura makes me think it would be a good fit!

@GerOttman I don't listen to heavy metal regularly, but that was pumped up , lyrics wise!! You're right I do need to feel an ounce of power now, feeling like zero/trash for SO long. Thanks 🦋🌺

Yes, I am there daily, but I haven't posted on Facebook in years. And I hardly ever read anyone's posts. I only use it to stay in touch with family that I don't see often 🤷‍♀

Just remember that social media only shows what they want you to see. Just because it looks like everyone else has it together doesn’t mean they do. Family or not.
@tiltawhirl Well said!

It's a ghost town for me. It's rare when anybody posts anything personal there now. I basically have no idea what all these people do in their lives because they don't share anything on Facebook. Neither do I. Out of 150 people, there are about 20 who posted some update in their life in last 5 years. With the rest I noticed that some women changed their last name so they apparently got married but that's all.

yes i am on and yes i am one of those posting about life. you can't compare yourself to those around you. take baby steps...celebrate the small victories

Yes but FB is not like it used to be. Once upon a time it was friendly, inviting, non-invasive, didn't have ads, didn't have algorithms that track your website using and feed you stuff it thinks you want to see, and collect huge volumes of data and metrics on how/when/why you use it.

Also it didn't employ a busful of nuns doing enforcement of constantly changing 'community standards', didn't have 'facebook jail', and all the other b/s.

Plus it was wound up with other products that Zuckerberg's company had acquired over the years and could be used fully independent without attempts to force you to use FB's extra services.
Apologies, fabulous one, but that's not my vibe!

I use it more than this page but I like being on here
@SJones48 That's both concerning and nice of you to say! lol 😉

Tbh, it depresses me.
They probably envy us too, even if that's hard to believe.
