In your opinion, what do you think is SW missing compared to EP?

Depth. Individual conversations and friendships were stronger and deeper. Threads would go on for hours or even days. Here, a thread is often 80% done in mere minutes. The attention span is really limited, barring boobs or sex.

As we age, the site is backfilled with younger adults. They typically are more focused on immediacy and have a shorter attention span. Communication changes over time.

If EP was like dating, SW is like speed dating.
Neither is wrong, they’re just very different.

A couple years before EP shutdown they had a party in San Francisco for users. Got to meet the staff and EP Ally. Didn’t meet any axe murderers. Interesting evening.

The vibe we had as a whole back then.

While an okay alternative, it’ll never be what EP was simply because it feels like a different time. Like, too much has happened in the world and in us. Social media is even different now as everything becomes catered to sharing content that can be contained into a matter of a couple of minutes…a couple of lines. It’s all about getting to the point for more of a constant traffic flow to appease a shorter attention span and with that a bit of the depth is gone.

Traffic. A lot more action on Ep. Social media was young then. People really cared what other people thought still. It’s like comparing Mohamed Ali to Mike Tyson. Both great but completely different

You can't and will not have EP back

It was a different place
A different time ...people were so much different back then...life goes on

The people that were on EP were different it was just different there and hard to compare.

SWeeps who are nostalgic about EP, I am wondering how long you were on there. By the time I joined, around a year before it ended, it was crawling with trolls and bots.
