I can't imagine anyone would ever block me. I'm a swell fella!
@hunkalove 🙃
If it's someone I know, yea.
Ambroseguy80 · 56-60, M
I just salute them

BlueVeins · 26-30
A friend of mine blocked me for saying the CA government should use eminent domain to procure land for the high-speed rail project and that it shouldn't be a bureaucratic nightmare. 🫩
@BlueVeins *blocked
helenoftroy2000 · 22-25, F
nobody has ever blocked me
GnomeyGee · 41-45, M
Im more surprised if I make it through the whole day without getting blocked
Munumbis · 46-50, M
Nope I know why they did.
RebelRaven · 51-55, F
Sometimes, depending on who it is
MellyMel22 · F
@RebelRaven Pretty much what I was gonna say..
Lugwho · 61-69, M
I don't usually notice.
DancesWithWolves · 56-60, M
I just go on and let them be and wish for the best.

Honestly, I do not care.

I am not that close to anyone here (anymore).

I had a huge crush on someone here.

But that phase is over.
taneegoan · 31-35, F
am never surprised over human nature
HumanEarth · F
Only when you called them a friend after a few months or a few years of talking to them. It freaking stings and hurts.

Other then that - no

People are too block happy on here. They will block people because of screen name, profile photo, what or isn't on their profile and that's before even saying hello to them. They passed judgment without taking the to get to know they were.

I don't mean PM them and talk their ear off. But let them float around in feed for while.

So many block and they don't even know who they are blocking
Depends on who it is. With some, I’m not surprised at all.
FreestyleArt · 36-40, M
Oh well. Been there
Captainjackass · 31-35, M
Only if I know them. I’ve been blocked by people I had good interactions with on here before.
faery · F
Nope. It's rare I notice, anyway. I tend to forget names quickly when they're not part of my daily experience.
Adogslife · 61-69, M
Truthfully, I find it confusing to this day. I’m pretty innocuous. It’d be insanely rare for me to intentionally try to piss someone off.

But, I’m also truthful. If someone posts a question, I’ll answer it. Sometimes I don’t agree with the OP’s thoughts.

If you’re posting looking for validation, say so. Don’t form your thoughts as a question. The question mark means you’re looking for opinions.

Blocking over different opinions is an issue with the OP, not the respondents. It’s just proof of thin skin imho.

I like sites that use “karma” over blocking. Everything is either no vote, upvote or down vote. Your profile sums all of the + and - votes and they’re displayed publicly.

Blocking is an admin function used as a warning to give users a “time out” if they act inappropriately or are reported too frequently.
Yeah. But then I remember that people have different sensitivities and emotional intelligences.
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
I never really pay attention to it
BillyMack · 46-50, M
No. Unless it’s someone who I’ve interacted with on a regular basis, I don’t really care.
Cigarguys · 41-45, C
Sometimes yeah when it's a simple answer that I live in Kansas City, but I could care less when the creepy people asking me how I spank and discipline my children block me. We do gentle parenting. And we have never hit or disciplined our kids in any way
Cigarguys · 41-45, C
@GoFish honestly I get very anxious whenever I see somebody has added me socially on here. I always check the profile before I have any interaction with them. And now that I have the VIP it really freaks me o,,ut how many people look at my profile and never respond or comment to me. Just one of the reasons why I will tonever use our kiddos real names or share any pictures of them on here.
GoFish ·
@Cigarguys yeah too many creeps out there.. it’s insane the things some people do 😐 ugh

yeah vip is nice to have for that lol see who’s lurking around 🙂
Cigarguys · 41-45, C
@GoFish a while back I had somebody actually asked me to send a picture of links foot with his stitches. Talk about a instant block
swirlie · 31-35, F
Every time someone blocks me, I immediately call my Psychiatrist and schedule an appointment.
@swirlie same 🤣
Fishy · 36-40, F
Depends on who?

Some people are just salty,
Other times it's been people I thought I was chill with,
And it's like ... Oh :c
@Royricky09 I tried to give you the best answer 🤣
lissah · 36-40, F
Doesnt bother me one bit
YMITheWayIM · 46-50, M
Only when that someone has blocked me right after commenting on my post. Especially when I haven't even read the comment. Yes, it has happened multiple times unfortunately.
GoFish ·
@YMITheWayIM mad blockers lol.. that’s why beery has an alt 😅🙂
SpectralMourning · 41-45, M
Once upon a time perhaps but not so much anymore. No sense overthinking it....they have their reasons and that's all it takes.
MasterLee · 56-60, M
PerfectionOfTheHeart · 46-50, F
Nah. Even if it’s someone I “know” I’ll do a little welp and don’t give the decision a second thought. It might sting if it were certain people rooted deeply in me, but I’d get over it pretty quickly. People block for reasons that often have nothing to actually do with me. And if the reasoning is one hundred percent me, then I know it’s what they needed in the moment to have a greater sense of peace. That’s all I want for everyone.
Meh
Nothing about this place shocks me
EldritchFox · 41-45, F
Certain people yeah. You think they're a buddy then they're done with you for whatever reason in their head...

I decided to let it go. People have crazy limited boundaries right now. Can't do much but walk away after they've decided you aren't usable.
GoFish ·
depends on the someone but i'm not really surprised anymore as some people are so full of whatever there's bound to be offended people at others 😒 it comes with the territory i guess .. i was rather sad to block certain people myself but for others it's beyond well deserved 😒
I’m surprised by their short sightedness in eliminating one of the most awesome persons in the world from their life
SUPERVlXEN · F
Funny, whoever asked this question has me blocked. 😂
SpectralMourning · 41-45, M
@SUPERVlXEN Me too
SUPERVlXEN · F
@SpectralMourning
The more the merrier. Hopefully they won’t be too disappointed by the answers to their question. 🥲
SpectralMourning · 41-45, M
@SUPERVlXEN Guess we'll never know.
I usually have a pretty good idea why but I really don’t give it much thought. Waste of time.
AbbeyRhode · F
No. I just assume the person is a liberal, and move on.
I ... umm ... can't see who this question is by. 🤣
Sutten · 36-40, F
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
Yeah because I never try to offend so I wonder why I got blocked
MrAverage1965 · 61-69, M
@PatientlyWaiting25 I know how you feel, like you I try not to offend but still get blocked often in mid conversation with no explanation
Gingery · 41-45, F
@PatientlyWaiting25 I’ve been blocked for not playing up to someone’s sexual fantasies. Sometimes it’s not what you do, but what you don’t do!
MrAverage1965 · 61-69, M
@Gingery I don't think anyone has sexual fantasies about me
AdaXI · T
It's usually someone I've had little or no interaction with these days so I don't give it much thought.

I mean if we never speak and they don't wanna see me appearing on their feed all the time then fair enough it is what it is.

Startide · F
I never notice 😅
val70 · 56-60
Yes, because I'm only being myself here. I've even given them the finger more than once
Zonuss · 46-50, M
No.
I just put them in the you're so off category. ☺
swirlie · 31-35, F
@Zonuss
I just un-blocked you. How do you like me so far?
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
Every time. Because sometimes it's someone on the opposite side of the political spectrum from me, and sometimes it's someone whom I thought was a friend. I'll let Morgue tell the story of a recent time when the latter happened.
ItsMeMorgue · 46-50, F
@LordShadowfire The person in question was OogieBoogie. Someone I didn't realize was as toxic as she turned out to be.

I had posted an article, quoting the whole thing as well as providing a link to the original, talking about puberty blockers, and debunking the myth that the right keeps pushing about them hurting children. This is an important subject to me, because I spent my entire childhood and adulthood essentially pretending I didn't exist.

(Not that I'm planning on taking hormones and having surgery, because I have to share this body. But I can imagine trans children freaking out every single day because they just know they are one gender, but the body they are in is the opposite.)

In swept Ms. Oogie, screaming "HOW DARE YOU!?" Accusing me of using children to promote an agenda and harming them in the process. Completely ignoring the points the article made and repeating the same old debunked BS about permanently changing their bodies. (For the record, puberty blockers only work until you stop taking them. Then you go through puberty. It's kind of stated flat out in the name, but apparently some people who drink the orange Kool-Aid don't grasp the core concept.)

I was so emotionally overwhelmed at the fact that someone I thought was a friend would come at me with such an angry Trumpian attack that I did something I didn't think I would ever do willingly. I reported her comment for hate speech, knowing full well that she would suffer no consequences for her hate speech, and that I would be forced to block her for a month.

A month went by, and I unblocked her. Shadowfire approached her when she commented on a different post altogether, and brought it up again. He used language I do not approve, but that technically applies in her case, calling her a transphobic catch you next Tuesday. I legitimately thought she would respond, even if it was just to drop more hate speech.

No.

She blocked him, and then she blocked me, and for good measure she blocked Corvus.

That's how much she hates anyone who tells the truth about trans children.

Or maybe she just really hates being called that name. But she definitely hates trans kids.
Musicman · 61-69, M
Not at all. Some people just love blocking people. They get a kick out of it. Once they have blocked everyone they just open a new account and start all over again.
