Apparently free choice has gone out the window ...

Elon Musk’s social media platform, X, on Tuesday sued a global advertising alliance and several major companies, including Unilever, Mars and CVS Health, accusing them of unlawfully conspiring to shun the social network and intentionally causing it to lose revenue. The company formerly known as Twitter accused the defendants of a “massive advertiser boycott”.

And...he rails about private corporations being able to do what they want but when the shoe is on the other foot he balks? HAHAHAHA good for him. I hope twitter shuts down. Hate that site.

Him and orange man go together

Not saying it's either... What i am saying is that Elon is throwing a hissy fit because he's losing revenue from ads because companies are withdrawing their advertising due to his actions and viewpoints

If true, good for them. The thing ab out being obscenely rich, like Musk or Trump or many others, is that you have the money to afford frivolous lawsuits aimed at silencing critics by outspending their ability to pay for lawyers, even if the suits get thrown out of court.

@ChipmunkErnie unfortunately justice has become a rich person's game
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@Convivial It always was.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
And if it works, Trump can do the same thing with Truth Social, since no one in their right mind will advertise on there.😷
It must be nice to have so much money you can waste it on pointless lawsuits just for attention. 🙄

@NerdyPotato That never stopped trump.

Free enterprise is only if you do it his way.... like so many self-entitled wealthy wannabe dictators.
Funny how he doesn't like when the shoe is on other foot!😂

Twitter Chief Executuve Linda Yaccarino said:

"People are hurt when the marketplace of ideas is constricted. No small group of people should monopolise what gets monetised."

🤣🤣🤣
@SunshineGirl But when Musk can monopolise the marketplace, it’s called "free enterprise", right ? 😅

Fascinating..
im confused. are you saying this is a good thing or a bad thing?
that advertisers were not sharing revenue with any platform centre to right. and google was killing them in the search suggestions?

no wonder all we see is left ideology everywhere.. with the appearance that its the general consensus of things.
Strictmichael75 · 61-69, M
He thinks he is the world’s dictator!
NinaTina · 26-30, F

@Convivial no elon is moving all his business out of cali teslavwent to texas, x will go to new york as many businesses are leaving cali, uber, papypal and a couple more
Free market privilege, the same Musk claims to embrace.
@Convivial Exactly, one thing Musk "promised" was to get rid of all the bots, but now their worse, and wants $22 a month to go ad free.
Convivial · 26-30, F
@NativePortlander1970 never been there and have no intention of changing that
@Convivial Modern twitter is now nothing like the twitter I joined in 2010.

@wildbill83 Yeah, sure, those companies are really struggling because they no longer advertise on a dying platform. I doubt CVS spends one second thinking about Elon.

@BigGuy2 This is a discussion about the "free market" rather than free speech. The bizarre situation in which a megalomaniac has decided his product is so indispensible that corporations should be obliged to spend money on it . . presumably the next step will be to sue private individuals who do not have X accounts 🤔
