@ninalanyon This seems like a completely different place than a few years ago that many people couldn't have just left.

@Lostpoet A lot of people here only post sporadically and then go quiet for months at a time. My first post here was just over five years ago at the beginning of 2019. I don't know if it has changed all that much but that could just be me not noticing, or perhaps that the site algorithms are simply showing me things that fit me.

Perhaps some changes are just that those of us who have been here for years are now that many years older.

@oldundieslover But you do know my name, I've been Nina Lanyon for over twenty years now. As far as I am concerned it is my name. In English law, in principle, your name is whatever you say it is. Unfortunately this freedom has been progressively eroded by well meaning legislation (at least mostly well meaning) intended to prevent fraud. It is now close to impossible to do lots of things without revealing one's birth name.

It's not even possible to book a hotel room as Mr and Mrs Smith any more.
