How do you decide who you will follow on here?
I follow almost no one but have a lot of followers.

People follow others for various reason and one of the reasons is that SW prioritizes your feed based upon those you follow. You certainly have every right to not follow others, but I've found following the interesting, at least to me, people enriches my experience on SW.

Aren't you curious about people here? How do people follow you and not the reverse? Don't you need to allow them to follow you? I guess i don't understand how SW works.

And no you don’t have to permit someone to follow you and you don’t have to follow them back but if you do then you are considered “friends”

@NiftyWhite pardon my stupidity, but, i really never understood following, friending, etc. friending only prioritizes the feed you receive as to comments, and also allows you to develop an album that only friends can view. Then if i friend you, but you don't friend me, i get your comments fed and you gain access to the friends album, but you don't get my comments and i don't get access to your friend's album?

@samueltyler2 If you follow me, you see my posts in your feed as a priority. If I don’t follow you back, I don’t see yours as a priority post in my feed. It may still come up, as in, I’m not “blocked” from seeing them, but if I have 100 other friends, then I prob won’t see yours. If you are “friends” (follow each other) then each person gains access to any area of the profile where the settings are set to “friends may view this”

At one point I use to just follow anyone who followed me but now I'm more selective and usually only follow people back when I've interacted with them for a while.

I don't follow every single person who follows me. When I decide to follow someone, it's usually if we have interacted for a good while.
