Do you put shopping carts back when you're done loading your car?

Or are you the POS that leaves it in the parking spaces or even worse, do you bring it home with you?
calicuz · 56-60, M Best Comment
I don't just put it back, I put it back with style. 😎

@DerSilberneKonig1

DerSilberneKonig1 · 22-25, M
@calicuz Thanks for the laugh
Nitedoc · 51-55, M
@calicuz I don't doubt it!

Dlrannie · 31-35, F
I put it back and get my £1 coin back 🙂🙂

I no longer use them, but when I did, I not only put MINE back, and also the one that was rolling around the parking lot.
Abstraction · 61-69, M
@4meAndyou Yes, I can just imagine you would do that.
4meAndyou · F
@Abstraction ☺️☺️☺️

Known as "trolleys" here, but I always return them anyway.

I like to think I've more self-respect than those who just dump them anywhere, blocking parking spaces, risking damaging others' cars and creating needless extra work for the staff. Plus, I want my £1 deposit back from the chain-lock!

Home? Taking the trolley from the site without authority could be treated as theft.

.....

...needless extra work for the staff...

They have plenty already from the selfish goons who pick up items then dump them any old where else in the shop rather than replace them properly. Are they really incapable of making and staying with positive choices among more than two types of cheese and three of biscuits? Or indeed of not handling foods they do not want?

Or those who turn baskets of non-food goods (clothes etc.) into a very untidy mess.

Or who open boxes to look at the goods rather than study the photographs and specifications on the label. I once had to return a lamp because I'd not noticed some idiot had opened then re-packed the box without damage, but had lost a small part of the lamp in doing so. (I was lucky on my return to search, and find it under the basket.)

One shop assistant told me it often takes them over an hour after closing time to repair the muddle!

Always push them back to the cart corral
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@MissingLink That can be particularly satisfying if there are other carts in the corral and you've had a long, hard day. Just give that bad boy a push and listen to the crash.
MissingLink · 51-55, M
@LordShadowfire Yes I have done that for sure! or if there is a bit of a hill I'll try to ride the cart down to the corral
exexec · 61-69, C
I return mine and usually a stray that I pass along the way.
NerdySoph · 26-30, F
Yes i wheel them back, and before reaching the row they belong in, i give it a final big push forward just to see if i can get it back in perfectly from a distance. Fun every time, gets a lot of weird stares :D

I always push them back. Except when my son was a little baby because I didn't feel comfortable leaving him in the car while I ran back.
DerSilberneKonig1 · 22-25, M
@SW-User That's more than fair tho, there's always gonna be an exception to every situation
SW-User
@DerSilberneKonig1 It irked me,but I'd of felt worse leaving my son alone
Jokekilla · 26-30, M
I’m the person who actually takes the cart back into the store bruh!! 😭😭 cause I feel bad for workers coming out at night. I know other fuckers could care less but I gotta heart 🫶🏼
deadgerbil · 22-25, F
I used to work bringing the carts in. So annoying when they're everywhere but the corral
DerSilberneKonig1 · 22-25, M
@deadgerbil Especially on busy days where the parking lot because a multi lane maze
Nanori · F
I kick it and let it go wherever it wishes to
DerSilberneKonig1 · 22-25, M
@Nanori I wouldnt be surprised if you dry humped them to make it personal tbh 😭
Nanori · F
Yep because if I just left it in the middle of a car park either I or someone else would hit it with the car. Also it’s not fair on a disabled person or people that are in a rush to have to move it out the way before they get parked. There is no excuse not to take it back ever. It’s selfish and lazy. If people want to steal it fair enough but don’t leave it for the rest of us to move. 😂
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
People who don't are douches. It says a lot about your character.
Richard65 · M
I always put them back, but last time I did, I was in the corrugated iron trolley shelter when an old guy was ejected from the store for stealing chocolate bars. He was so furious he smashed his metal walking stick against the shelter with such force it practically deafened me 😬
Jeephikelove · 46-50, F
Yes, always
spjennifer · 56-60, T
I always put them back, even if the weather's nasty out. Many of the stores now have them geolocked so they can't leave the parking areas to be stolen by people, the wheels just lock up beyond a certain point.

ineedadrink · 51-55, M
Of course I bring them back. Sometimes bring back others that look like they're ready to roll into someone's car.
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
I push it out to the street and say "You're free now"
Keeper · M
I backed into one last week became of some lazy eff 🤬
HannahSky · F
I return it most of the time.
How come we’re supposed to use the checkout line instead of the self-check “so workers don’t lose their jobs,” but bringing the carts back for them has no effect on that?
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@LeopoldBloom Because they leave them in parking spaces so people can't park. They can also get blown by the wind and damage other cars.
Nitedoc · 51-55, M
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
I absolutely hate the people who leave them in parking spots. And wtf is with people thinking it's cool to take them home? Those things cost like two or three hundred bucks.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@DerSilberneKonig1 I saw a TV show or movie or something where someone was pissed that the owner of a vehicle had left a shopping cart just blatantly in a parking spot, and they zip tied it to the person's bumper.
DerSilberneKonig1 · 22-25, M
@LordShadowfire I've seen that too, same thing but to the car door handles and even to the tires, people get really petty 😂
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@DerSilberneKonig1 It might have been the door handle. I only have a vague recollection of the scene.
NinaTina · 26-30, F
I only see homeless take the carts
DerSilberneKonig1 · 22-25, M
@NinaTina Yeah that i can't say much about, you gotta do what you gotta do
@NinaTina Many larger cities that have homeless resource centers give them away, they're usually purchased from retail establishments that have gone out of business.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
I always put them back because it’s so rude not too.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@iamonfire696 I'm somewhat less vigilant about that these days, but I absolutely refuse to leave it in a parking space. That's just a giant middle finger to everybody.
Musicman · 61-69, M
Most definitely! To not put your cart back in just rude in my opinion.
I am 53 and permanently disabled with terminal cardiopulmonary issues, on assisted oxygen 27/7. I have lost a lot of my strength and tire extremely quickly from any kind of activity and use the supplied scooters at stores. However, many times they're not available and have to use regular carts, but even then I am still able to put them away in their parking lot corrals, and if a FAT, CRIPPLE ON ASSISTED OXYGEN can do it, ANYONE CAN 🤬
DerSilberneKonig1 · 22-25, M
@NativePortlander1970 Take it easy tho, i understand the moral of wanting to do the right thing, but it's more than okay to prioritize your own well being over something simple lol
@DerSilberneKonig1 I just get so angry over those lazy fucks that don't care about runaway carts that dent my SUV AND scratch my paint.
