Known as "trolleys" here, but I always return them anyway.
I like to think I've more self-respect than those who just dump them anywhere, blocking parking spaces, risking damaging others' cars and creating needless extra work for the staff. Plus, I want my £1 deposit back from the chain-lock!
Home? Taking the trolley from the site without authority could be treated as theft.
.....
They have plenty already from the selfish goons who pick up items then dump them any old where else in the shop rather than replace them properly. Are they really incapable of making and staying with positive choices among more than two types of cheese and three of biscuits? Or indeed of not handling foods they do not want?
Or those who turn baskets of non-food goods (clothes etc.) into a very untidy mess.
Or who open boxes to look at the goods rather than study the photographs and specifications on the label. I once had to return a lamp because I'd not noticed some idiot had opened then re-packed the box without damage, but had lost a small part of the lamp in doing so. (I was lucky on my return to search, and find it under the basket.)
One shop assistant told me it often takes them over an hour after closing time to repair the muddle!
