My dream job in elementary school was to work at Target. They had cool toys and a little dining area with slushies and mozzarella sticks. Plus they had the dog mascot and big ol bullseye on the front of their store. I just thought it was a cool place to be
Looking back at it now, I kinda wish my parents had encouraged me to dream big or have goals in life, something beyond just getting good grades and staying out of trouble

@TinyViolins when we moved back to Oklahoma to be closer to my grandfather. He lived not that fare from our local GameStop. I remember back then I thought that place was awesome. I was thinking when I turned 16 I would try to get a job there. I was on YouTube one day and there was this guy talking about his experiences with working for GameStop and if he had one of those men in black memory eraser things he would used it on himself. I started to watch his videos and decided not to try to get a job there when I turned 16

I had no thoughts of a "random" or "unexpected" profession, and cannot really imagine what one might be.
Unfortunately I could not follow my desire fully, so had to settle for related "shop-floor" level work. I had dreamt of being a scientist or engineer though was not sure in which discipline; but both professions are highly mathematical and maths was my weakest subject.

Automobile interior guy. My father had a convertible that needed a new top and watching the guy install that amazed me. I went back sometimes and watched him do upholstery.

I guess maybe middle school we had music class. They was trying to teach us how to play the flute. Well if we came up with the money we could buy one or we had to borrow one. Some odd reason I wanted to get one. But by the time I got home from school I all was would completely forget to ask my parent's

@OverTheHill I loved doing magic tricks as a kid, either with cards or with "magic sets" that were sold for children. I never thought of it as a profession though.

Based on the TV show "77 Sunset Strip", I wanted to be a private investigator.
Of course, on that show, the cases were never about anything mundane like following an unfaithful spouse around to get dirt on them.....
