back....reminds me of a story years ago well before uber times. was in the 90s and my buddy and i were leaving a night club in a taxi. we were on the way to my buddy's house first. we were hammered but my buddy was really hammered and he was sitting in the front seat. he kept playing withe the meter and the driver kept telling him "no touch" he wouldn't stop and the cabby started to get pissed off...i gave my buddy a slap on the head to stop it...he did...then he was all calm and i just knew what was gonna happen next....he puked all over the meter and glove box and everywhere 🤣...the cabby hammered on his breaks and kicked him out...he allowed me to stay in and took me home though...surprisingly...i felt bad for the guy and left him a good tip.

Doesn't really matter to me.

1. If I am with family/others, I just ensure everyone is comfortable.
2. If alone and I have something to do(like call/work), I prefer back seat, so I should not be distracting the driver.

Sitting in front you have an airbag for protection and can control the vehicle if the driver passes out. On the other hand, the driver is close enough to stick you with a needle of a knife. The last uber I was in stank.

Back when I did it, it was front seat. Look through tutorials in your app maybe.
