Combined age is almost as old as America.

age is not equal to competence

I'm ashamed to be a Democrat. That they couldn't come up with a candidate to beat a senile mentally-ill obese convicted felon is more than embarrassing. I doubt I will ever waste my time voting again.
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
No wonder Democrats can't beat the usual horrible Republican candidates.

Those elderly politicians need to retire years ago.

@Crazywaterspring "The Republicans are so bad we don't really have to try anymore."

Old people can have a lot to offer. But not if they are stuck in their old ways and had plenty of time to do the right thing already, but didn't.

I have no issue with someone in their 70s and 80s as the elder of any group, it is what they stand for that's a problem. They pick old people because these particular individuals are more predictable and compliant

Does it even matter?

Get out and vote! Just this time. You won't have to do it anymore! Four more years, you know what? It'll be fixed, it'll be fine, you won't have to vote anymore. – D.J.T.

@Longpatrol Okay, but you also expressed disappointment that Bernie wasn’t the candidate (which I understand, I voted for him, too). He’s 83.
Longpatrol · 31-35, M
@bijouxbroussard True but it's a case by case, he shown a greater grasp of issues affecting the electorate. But generally, if they're too old they're long past being personally affected by the issues affecting the majority.

In Singapore they tend to insist upon candidates in their 40's going into politics. They except in a very few cases(ex PM etc) try to get MP's to retire by 75 to make way for juniors to take on the role.

They'll mentor the junior over maybe 5-10 years and their max time in parliament is 20 years on average.

@Longpatrol How can they retire billionaires if they won't leave office? /S

@LordShadowfire unfortunately their mismanagement will live on
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@Longpatrol We can fix it. We just have to keep the wrong people out of office while we do it.

Unfortunately, the wrong people have taken the reins.
