Having a Black male candidate on Trump's ticket could either attract Black votes or infuriate the black community, motivating them to vote against him

I've had political conversations with numerous Black men in Georgia who are disillusioned with Biden, particularly due to the current economic conditions. Soaring inflation and high interest rates have made it difficult to make ends meet. Despite salary increases, many Americans are struggling more now than they did before Biden assumed office.

Black women, however, for the most, hold a different view. Democrats have effectively portrayed Trump not only as a racist aiming to regress the progress of the black community but also as a misogynist who holds disdain for Black women. Moreover, opting for a Black male vice president instead of a black female vice president like Kamala Harris may evoke a sense of setback among black women. Historically, white Democrats have persuaded them that Black men pose the greatest threat to their success in America. This narrative traces back to the days of slavery. It is more probable that choosing a Black man for VP will mobilize a significant number of Black women to cast their votes against Trump.

He needs to choose the best person that aligns with his agenda and beliefs. Race doesn’t matter in the least in my view.

Maybe he can get Roseanne Barr to work in Blackface. That will be tasteful😷
@whowasthatmaskedman I would legit love that.
Trump's popularity among the black community has grown substantially, particularly after his arrests. The "Trump is a racist" narrative isn't holding water anymore. The mainstream media won't tell you about how he opened Mar-A-Lago to Blacks and to Jews...and then pressured other private clubs in Florida to do the same. He supported Jesse Jackson's rainbow coalition, as well as Al Sharpton's initiatives. How many minorities found employment due to his real estate and business ventures? Trump was popular with many Black community leaders until he ran for president as a republican. And as president, Trump restored and increased funding to HBCUs, commuted sentences of non-violent offenders, reduced the unemployment rate of minorities and women to record levels and increase the media income among minorities to the highest levels ever.

Malcom X was right. "The White liberal is the worst enemy to America and the worst enemy to the Black man."

@BizSuitStacy Not to mention, the significant number of African Americans he hired at his New Jersey casinos. Residents of Atlantic City were upset over Trump's departure. Thousands of jobs loss, and a substantial portion of tourism revenue. Despite the repercussions, they continue to support Democratic candidates who implemented high tax policies.

Sure, Trump has faced lawsuits alleging discrimination. It is a common occurrence for many large corporations in the United States. I can't say for certain whether or not Trump harbored racist views in the past or present. However, the bottom line is African Americans experienced more favorable conditions under Trump's administration than under Biden's focus on green energy initiatives, financial aid to Ukraine and pork spending policies.
Malcom X was right. "The White liberal is the worst enemy to America and the worst enemy to the Black man."
That's about the size of it. More blacks are waking up.
Gosh, what could possibly make people think that Trump was using racist dogwhistles? Could it be the people who responded to those racist dogwhistles?

One of the things that's most appalling to me is how often swastika bearing folks are tolerated at demonstrations for Trump. It's horrifying that self-described American patriots SILENTLY ASSENT to Nazis in their midst. Repeatedly.

@bijouxbroussard His father was so awful that Woody Guthrie wrote a folk song about him. Or it might have been Arlo.

Update: It was Arlo, and the song is called "Old Man Trump".

@PatKirby 😂 That shirt! Trump is seriously sparking a revolution with the black vote. Steve Harvey, Kanye, Ice cube, lil Wayne, 50 cent and now Snoop Dogg.
@PatKirby love these videos.

Saying it that way, it seems qualifications don't matter. To me a person's qualifications are the only things important.
fanuc2013 · 51-55, F
He should talk Oprah into running with him! That would sew up the election!
Justice4All · 36-40, M
@fanuc2013 Yeah, even Gayle and Charlie Barkley would get on board.
nudistsueaz · 61-69, F
@fanuc2013 Oprah is just another Hillary.

If Blacks keep voting for the same party for 64 years, then let them stay allegedly impoverished and oppressed. What do I care?
I say "allegedly" because when I see them on TV they are affluent, intelligent, and living the American dream. Im confused. Are they oppressed and in poverty or are they affluent?
Someone is lying to us.
@Auggie The ones on TV that are doing well, what you don't see is how much harder it was for them to get where they are.

@LordShadowfire Yeah sure. They're actors. lol
Trump pulls alot of support among African American rappers and among the white alt-right. well...... if nothing else, he has broad appeal. LOL

@LordShadowfire 😂You're really comical.
@LordShadowfire EVERYONE in the cult could care less about any part of the Constitution...other than the 2nd Amendment.. They talk about Dems taking away their freedom of speech...........while saying all main street media ought to be eliminated. trump says he should have the right to "eliminate" all political opponents who speak out against him. The cult says they support law enforcement....until they beat them half to death on J6 and later 5 died....... and the cult has dissed cops and law enforcement ever since because the J6'ers are being arrested and trump is being prosecuted. The FBI should now be eliminated according to the cult........but they support the cops. RIGHT? ;-)

They want the entire Legislative Branch of our government eliminated...a president should make all decisions and laws for us (Trump should). A trump appointed SCOTUS should make laws to benefit the Radial Right agenda....ONLY. The cult thinks Civil Rights wording of our Constitution should be lined out because it applies to blacks, minorities and gay people. Equal Rights portions of the Constitution...ditto. Same with the Constitutional premise of separation of church and state. Voting Rights should be eliminated. According to trump if he gets elected we won't have any more elections. The Judicial portion of our government and society should be dismantled because they are his "enemies". All judges and prosecutors should be eliminated if they apply the law to him. Pretty much the only government trump does support is one with him as dictator...........who decides all for all of us. Listen to the things he says. Really listen to him. The cult tells us they love trump because he means what he says........until he says one of the above and then they don't believe he would do that. Believe him.

Insurrection supporter says what?

Anti-black woman narrative, especially since it flies in the face of overwhelming support by black women for Barack Obama. You think we should support Republicans like Clarence Thomas, who clearly doesn’t like black women, simply because he’s black ? You surprise me. 🤨
Justice4All · 36-40, M
@bijouxbroussard Indeed, Black women turned out to vote for Barack Obama. As you mentioned, there's a significant distinction between Black male Democrats and Republicans. It's undeniable that Kamala Harris being the first Black woman VP is a source of pride for many Black women as it marks a significant milestone. However, Byron Donalds, not only being a Republican but also marrying a white woman... that will certainly not help him get any black women votes, if he were Trump's running mate.

I’m tipping pence..
because nothing makes sense anymore..

This is a giant movie

Picking a running mate based on color is what JoeB did . It worked for him .
@AthrillatheHunt
Talk about projection.
Yes, we are talking about projection. Yours. Kamala Harris, being a person of color, I would think would have a valid opinion on whether he's racist or not, but you're telling me that she's wrong.

I look forward to you providing documented evidence to that effect.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@LordShadowfire valid opinion? she is wrong. JoeB is racist .

Trump will finally have his african american if he does choose a black man as VP
@Puppycat23 The man he called out as "his" African American left the GOP altogether. He says he’s an independent now.
We can only hope it infuriates them. People are incorrectly attributing the economy to Biden.
Justice4All · 36-40, M
@LordShadowfire Inflation is the main issue and these wars arent helping things. Unemployment is low.
@Justice4All Inflation can be explained, but not if folks don't want to listen.

@Justice4All No, that’s a stretch. Trump can’t relate to anyone else’s suffering. Trump hasn’t experienced anything he didn’t bring on himself. And he led the racist charge against his predecessor, who didn’t deserve it.

Biden was a loyal VP to our first black president, so if he had any racist feelings, he worked past them. Trump clearly hasn’t.
@bijouxbroussard Yeah, good point. People do change when they have the proper motivation. I think Biden took a long look at who he was, and decided he didn't like it.

It happened to that KKK guy, whose name escapes me because the edibles are kicking in, lol.
@LordShadowfire That would be the late Sen. Robert Byrd (D-West Virginia)
Robert Byrd evolved—he changed for the good. He apologized for his intolerant past and declared that he had been wrong. Although he voted against Justice Marshall for the Supreme Court seat, years later he also voted with 45 other Democrats against the candidacy of conservative Clarence Thomas. Byrd did not like Thomas’s assertion that he was the victim of a “high-tech lynching of uppity blacks,” and found the introduction of race into the Senate proceedings offensive. Most of all, he believed Anita Hill’s allegations against Thomas. Hindsight is 20-20 for those who were misguided enough to support Clarence Thomas, but looking back nearly 20 years, the senator had a very good point.

Sen. Byrd displayed a mix of conservative and liberal points of view in his later years. Remarkably, though, his politics resonated with the African-American community and came out on the right side of issues that are of concern to black voters. Byrd enjoyed a perfect 100 percent rating from the NAACP. He proposed $10 million to fund a Martin Luther King National Memorial in Washington, DC. The senator received a 67 percent rating from the American Civil Liberties Union, and a 65 percent rating from the League of Conservation Voters on environmental issues. He forcefully and eloquently voiced his opposition to the war in Iraq under President George W. Bush, and voted against the confirmation of Obama’s controversial treasury secretary Timothy Geithner.
@Justice4All I really don't remember McCain, Bush, or Romney being called racist. I remember Bush being called xenophobic for his war, but that's about it. The claims of those Republicans being racist were rare and usually came from random people, not pundits or activists. And Reagan was a huge racist.

With Trump, he's called racist because he keeps saying racist things in order to get attention.
