I will not make it to old age and I'm slow but surely starting to accept it.

I probably won't even make it to my 40s

Most likely I'll kill myself if by 35 If don't achieve self dependence.

At 32 I still heavily depend on my parents and I feel ashamed of that. This is all caused by mental health issues such as social anxiety, PTSD and regret I feel about past mistakes that will not stop haunting me.

If it weren't for my parents I'd be homeless. I don't want to be homeless ever. Id rather just die.

I'll hold off for a couple more years working with my dad but eventually my time will just come if I don't manage to learn how to survive on my own.

I think by 35 I would have lived long enough. My death won't be as sad as someone dying young in their 20s.

Matthew 11:28-30 - Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

If you were to die today, are you 100% sure you'd go to Heaven?

The Bible says that you can know for sure:

1 John 6:13 - These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

There are a couple of things you have to understand first:

The Bible is really clear on salvation. It's not based on how good you are.

A lot of people think they're pretty good and they're going to get to Heaven because they're pretty good, but the Bible says in Romans 3:23 - "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"

The Bible says in Romans 3:10, "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:"

I'm not righteous, you're not righteous. And if it were our goodness that would get us into Heaven the none of us would be going.

So, you must admit that you are a sinner.

The Bible even says in Revelation 21:8, "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

I've lied before, everybody's lied before. So we've all sinned and we've done sins worse than lying, let's face it. We all deserve Hell.

You must realize the penalty for sin.

But the Bible says in Romans 5:8, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

Jesus Christ, because he loves us, came to the earth. The Bible says he is God manifest in the flesh (1 Timothy 3:16). God basically took on human form and lived a sinless life. He did not commit any sin and of course they beat him and spit on him and nailed him to the cross.

The Bible says when he was on that cross he himself bare our sins in his own body on the tree. 1 Peter 2:24 - Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

So every sin that you or I have ever done, it was as if Jesus had done it; he was being punished for our sins. And they took his body when he died and buried it in the tomb and his soul went down to Hell for 3 days and 3 nights (Acts 2:31). 3 days later he rose again from the dead. He showed unto the disciples the holes in his hands.

And the Bible is very clear that Jesus Christ died for everybody. 1 John 2:2 - And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

But there is something we must do to be saved. The Bible says in Acts 16:30-31 - And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

He didn't say join a church and you'll be saved, get baptized and you'll be saved, live a good life and you'll be saved, repent of all your sins and you'll be saved. No. He said believe.

You must believe that Jesus died, was buried, and rose again for you.

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

And everlasting means everlasting. It means forever. Jesus says in John 10:28, "And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand."

John 6:47 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

Once you do this, the Bible says in 1 John 1:7, "...the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin." So his blood cleanses you from all all past, present and future sins.

Colossains 1:14 - In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Romans 5:9 - Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Ephesians 1:7 - In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

So if you believe on Jesus Christ, the Bible says you have everlasting life. You're going to live forever. You can't lose your salvation. It's eternal, it's everlasting. Once you're saved, once you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, you're saved forever and no matter what you can never lose your salvation. Even if I were to go out and commit some awful sin. God will punish me for it on tis earth, but I'm not going to Hell. There's nothing I can do to go to Hell because I'm saved. Anyone who believes on Christ cannot go to Hell because God cannot lie, because God said whoever believeth in him has everlasting life.

John 11:26 - And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

That's why there are a lot of examples of people in the Bible who did some really bad stuff yet they made it to Heaven. How? Because they were so good? No. It's because they believed on the Lord Jesus Christ. Their sins are forgiven. Other people who may have lived a better life in the worlds eyes or maybe even really they lived a better life, they don't believe in Christ so they're going to have to go to Hell to be punished for their sins.

You must trust Christ alone as your savior.

There was a question that was asked to Jesus by one of his disciples and that question was in Luke 13:23-24 - "Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able."

Matthew 7:13-14 - "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."

And then he went on to say this in Matthew 7:21-23 - "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

You see the people here are trusting in their works. That is why they aren't saved. They never trusted in Jesus Christ. They trust in themselves.

The will of the father is defined in John 6:40 - "And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day."

The will of the father is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.

First of all, the majority of this world doesn't even claim to believe in Jesus, but God warned that even amongst those that claim to believe in Jesus, even amongst those that call him Lord, many trust in their own works. Salvation is not by works. And if you're trusting your own works to save you, Jesus is gonna say to you one day, "I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." Notice he said I never knew you, not I used to know you, because once he knows you, t's everlasting, it's eternal. Once he knows you, you're saved forever. But the people who trust in their works he never knew because they were never saved because they never believed on the Lord Jesus Christ. if you go to Hell it's because he never knew you. Because once he knows you, he knows you. It's just like once your parents will always be your parents and your children will always be your children. When you're born again, when you're his child, you'll always be his child.

John 1:12 - But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

You have to have all your faith in what the Lord Jesus Christ did. You have to put your faith in what Jesus did on the cross, when he died for you, he was buried and rose again. That is your ticket into Heaven.

Pray and ask Jesus Christ to save you.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. -Romans 10:9-10

Eternal life is a gift purchased by the blood of Jesus and offered freely to those who call upon Him by faith. Anyone who believes on the Lord Jesus Christ will be saved forever. Being saved is a one time event. All you have to do is ask.

Let me help you word a prayer. Realize it is not mere words that save, but your faith in Jesus Christ.

Dear Jesus, I know that I'm a sinner. I know I deserve to go to Hell. But I believe that you died on the cross for me and rose again. Please save me right now and give me eternal life. I'm only trusting in you Jesus. Amen.

Romans 3:24-26 - Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

I had the most beautiful friend in the whole world that believed with all her heart, that just because her mother and grandmother died at age 37, that she would die at that age as well. And guess what. She died at 37 because that's what she believed. She spoke it into existence. I sure miss my friend. If only she had realized that words create life or death and there was no need for her to die, just because of superstition. You're still here. Don't sentence yourself to death. You can change your life if you really want to. You really can. How many of us have been in the depths of despair, at times, but we made it because we had to make it. We didn't have anyone to help us. Not one to cheer us on, but that's what we do, because that's the right thing to do, not take our lives. We weren't put here to take our own lives, but to live and learn, and when we know better we do better. That's just the way it is. Life doesn't come handed to us on a plate. And this is a good thing or we would never live and learn. Get some help and get some depression pills if you have to but do something. Don't waste this precious life that was so graciously handed to us. Life is too precious to waste, even if you can't see it right now. God did not create us to kill ourselves. Satan is a liar. All is not lost. It may surely seem that way, but it is not. I don't want to be that kind of person. I want to say I tried and I made it. It wasn't easy by any means, but I made it!! Anybody can quit. We weren't born to be quitters. We were born to be goal oriented and help others and appreciate the gifts we do have to survive life. Do what it takes. There's times when we all have to see a therapist or take some pills for the time being, and there's nothing wrong with that. Anything to get ourselves straightened out. Could just be a hormonal imbalance. Nothing shameful about it. When we're not thinking straight, then that's when we need to get the help. That doesn't mean we have to stay on these things all the time but if it gets us through, then that's what we do. We do what we can and the Lord will take up the slack if we'll let him, and pray about it. But when were depressed we can't see these things. I know it's hard. I know it's super hard sometimes. But the times I have prayed during the hardest times are the times God pulled me through and he will do that for you, if you will ask him to, and what you can't do, he will help you, if you will allow him to. Many people have found this out. God is the only one who can make a way where there seems to be no way.

My cousin is 40 living in his parent's house and he doesn't look like he would have any problem with it. He could very easily live on his own, he just doesn't seem to have any motivation to do so. I have no idea if he struggles with some personal issues that we can't see though.

Still, no reason to kill oneself. What for? How does that help anyone?

My neighbour was 40 before he moved out of his mothers house. He’s a lovely man. Met the woman of his dreams and they got married and had a kid. All post 40. Don’t count yourself out.
Life plays cruel jokes on you.

Only person who can help you stares in the mirror.

@Fertilization What do you mean?

Well you managed to write all that so I don't think you're that hopeless. If you think about it there are jobs you might be able to hold. Like an Amazon sorting facility for example. So your parents aren't all that crucial... but if I were you I would use this opportunity to get on your feet by getting the necessary skills to survive. or if you still want to die maybe you can go fight for Ukraine. They would love to have you. Cheers.

@dark548 Do you get much exercise? I like taking bootcamp classes at my local gym like 6X per week. All that therapy stuff might end up making you feel worse if you overdo it.
dark548 · M
@pancakeslam I don't get enough cardio but I'm going to atleast start walking again for 30 minutes and maybe just maybe get back in the gym.

On a side note. Even if my social anxiety or mental health issues were gone tomorrow I still don't know what I want to do for a living. I am still lost there.
pancakeslam · 41-45, M
@dark548 jobs and opportunities are more plentiful than you realize. I mentioned Amazon because it is really easy work. You are like a cog in the machine. That being said I suggest you start training for something better right away. Cheers
