Do you remember when you used to be able to run?

I mean really run, without your fat belly bouncing off your knees, when you could just run and feel that cold air burning in your lungs. At least I can still outrun my nephew, hah!!! Little sod threw a tantrum when I beat him.

@Emele At my heaviest I was 198 I'm about 156 now, I really struggle to lose weight but I need to do it so I can be competitive within my running age group. The last time I lost weight was last October when I was really ill for 2 weeks, I wouldn't recommend it though! I really like seeing people shape up even if it's only for your own sense of wellbeing so I am rooting for you all the way here. If you ever want to throw any ideas about weight loss at me I'm listening, I'm no expert but I've been doing it for decades.

I used to do a 5k in <20 minutes. I would probably take an hour now

@Emele As long as you're happy then don't be too hard on yourself, we're all gonna be a skeleton soup someday in the ground, so find your happiness where you can. I love when I was able to run like that, but I LOVE hot chips and gravy on a freezing cold day. So fuck it.

@Allelse 🤗 Oh yeah I have definitely done things my own way. The 100lbs wasn't an accident 🤭 I am in an amazing relationship with someone who supports and appreciates me whatever. I don't miss the person I was, it was so long ago. As the saying goes, this is all bought and paid for 😅
But remaining active and dropping a pound or too is a sensible choice for me.

@Emele Remaining active! Yep that's it, because I got a big belly too but I still love being active! I'm full of energy and mischief and that'll never change. Nice belly by the way!!!

I can still run, my hope is that as long as I keep training like I do and never ever stop i will be able to be fit my whole life
GeniUs · 56-60, M
@Eternity that is a great thing to aspire to a lot depends on genes but it can be accomplished.
This guy is an inspiration to anybody who thinks you can't keep going:

(Edit I last ran, not that pic though).
Allelse · 36-40, M
@Bang5luts I'd go out a lot at night when it was late and run, especially when it was raining because then there wouldn't be as many people around.

@Allelse I can relate. But honestly I almost can't remember any specific time when my body didn't fight me. Not within the last year. This is me a year and almost a half ago
