Honestly, a purse . Well actually 3 of them. They are designed for concealed carry ( handgun) because I carry . They are made of quality leather and are very strong and heavy duty. Black, brown, and oxblood are colors. I used to think they were too stiff and I took them to a man that “ broke them in” for me . The more I use them the more I like them and they are 5 years old . I looked to see is they had any other colors and the price has more than tripled! They are all of in excellent shape and I take care of them. Best purchase I ever made! 😌🙄

I can think of a few "best purchases" I've made. In no particular order:
30 acres of farm land. A few years after the purchase a cell tower company wanted to lease it to put a tower on. The lease amount was twice the land payment. After a decade I sold out the lease for twice what I paid for the land. I still own the land but no longer collect rent from the tower that's on it.
Volvo wagon for $1200. I put about 100,000 miles on it over about a decade with very few repairs. It got about 24 mpg and I could haul a lot in it with the seat folded down.
Truck for $1400. Dependable and easy to repair. I've had it for over 10 years and it is now just kept as a spare/ back up. I kinda like it better than my current truck so I may eventually replace the engine and put it back on the road.
30' motor home for $600 which was basically the scrap metal value. Working stove, fridge, shower, water heater. The AC did work when I bought it. It's sitting up on blocks out in the woods and is where I go when I need some alone time. I couldn't have built a small storage shed for that, never mind the appliances. I could live out there if I had to.

Amazon stock at $27 a share. Bozos was on CNBC whining about the stock price. Now that stock bounces between $2600-$2800 a share but doesn't pay dividends.
I've got a few REITs that pay out sweet dividends monthly.

@Crazywaterspring which REITS pay out well?
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
@Iwillwait Most all of them. They're registered with the IRS to pay out 90% of their income to share holders.

2000 Toyota echo. Had it for six years without any problems until someone else totaled it. Even then all three passengers and myself got out of it without a scratch.

It seems the best one I've enjoyed is an ice cream maker haha but one I don't need to put any barrel in the fridge just directly can make yummy ice cream.

@MrAverage1965 Money isn't important – money cometh and money goeth. Friends come and go. Lovers come and go! But my feet on my own ground – that's what really counts! 🌷
MrAverage1965 · 61-69, M
@helenS that's very true.

My answer is probably one of the least exciting here, but it would be my John Deere 5045 tractor w/bucket loader. I've since added a few attachments for it to include a grader, pto wood chipper and pallet forks. It has been a real workhorse for me and has been the most useful implement I can recall. Not a very sexy answer I'm afraid.
Then there are the woodworking things........😉
