Are you happy with the person you’ve become?

At work I’m confident, charismatic, respected and ambitious. At home, bored, miserable, constantly craving for something more.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
No, I'm disappointed and ashamed but don't know how to lift myself up.
DHggmu · 31-35, M
@CrazyMusicLover I’m sorry you feel that way, as negative as I feel sometimes I try to convince myself that there’s always a chance things will get better. 🤗
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@DHggmu I'm aware that it must come from me. Maybe it'll come from some sort of crisis. I don't know but I've struggled to find any passion that would turn into a meaningful career, source of income and a higher purpose in life. Something to feel proud of that would generate an overall feeling of satisfaction in life.
DHggmu · 31-35, M
@CrazyMusicLover I understand that. I didn’t find a meaningful career until two years ago, and now it seems like the only positive in my life. But that isn’t all that defines you, you can be proud of the person you are regardless of your work life. In todays world that’s more valuable than people realise.
FlutteringWordsX · 41-45, F
In some ways yes and other ways no, but trying to be better than yesterday everyday. Some days I succeed and other days taking about 3 steps back but still trying.
FlutteringWordsX · 41-45, F
@DHggmu I guess that's where we just have to put one foot infront of the other and try to be a little kinder to yourself just for that little instance in time.
DHggmu · 31-35, M
@FlutteringWordsX Agreed, always trying to. Seemingly always failing.
FlutteringWordsX · 41-45, F
@DHggmu At least you're still trying and that is Hope which counts for something. 🌸
TurtlePink · 22-25, F
Just wish i didn’t do some of the things I did.
DHggmu · 31-35, M
@TurtlePink Oh we all have regrets. It’s better to learn from our mistakes and do what we can to not repeat them.
smiler2012 · 56-60
@DHggmu 😞sorry that is the case 🤔you seem too appear too have two absolutely opposite world i am sure if you put your mind too it you can make that home world as dynamic as your work one
DHggmu · 31-35, M
@smiler2012 You’re right, it’s like I’m living two lives and it’s exhausting.
exexec · 61-69, C
Yes, mostly, and part of the happiness is knowing what things need improvement and working on them.
I'm always trying to be better than I was before
DHggmu · 31-35, M
@pripyatamusementpark I’m an advocate for self improvement, for some reason it’s a lot easier at work than it is at home.
Deep down....yes.

Im not saying my life went like it should + I've lost so much..... twice over.
I got damaged, my family broken, my future....ugh, thrown to the wind .

Im nowhere near where i thought i would be at this age.

But i do like who i am. Somehow i came out of it with my soul entact.

So yes....for where it counts to me - i am mostly happy.

Im the opposite of you : at work - i dont fit in. But that's ok, im absolutely sure i wouldn't want to.
At home im at peace. Content.

@OogieBoogie

What doesn't break is makes us smarter
DHggmu · 31-35, M
@OogieBoogie I get that. I’m happy with the person that I am, but not my overall life. I want more, but I’m still very grateful for what I do have.

But I’m glad you are happy in yourself after all you’ve been through, there’s a strength in that.

I wonder if I’d prefer the opposite, to be happy at home and not at work. I take what I can get, but it doesn’t seem right.
@DHggmu i think ur on the right track .... gratitude.

You start with wot u got 🤷‍♀🤗
Lilliesandlight · 41-45, F
No, not at all
DHggmu · 31-35, M
@Lilliesandlight How come?
Lilliesandlight · 41-45, F
@DHggmu i have no social circle. I work a low wage stressful job. I feel like a failure as a parent.
DHggmu · 31-35, M
@Lilliesandlight it might surprise you how many others have little to no social circle, but I understand it can be hard to deal with. As can our jobs, sometimes it can feel like we just live to work. Why do you feel like you’ve failed as a parent?
pdockal · 56-60, M
Always room for improvement
tenente · 100+, M
pretty much. don't like suffering depression but i'm always working on that.
DHggmu · 31-35, M
@tenente Seems like a constant battle.
Musicman · 61-69, M
Yes I am. 😊😊😊
