If someone says that they love you....

If someone says that they love you...doesn't that mean that they love all of you? Someone in particular always say that they love me but seem to criticize me for the things that I do and enjoy :/ so from what it seems like the person loves me for the things that they only accept or find to be right in their eyes.I find this to be extremely toxic because I would be damned if I stop doing what I enjoy to please the next person because they think it is unacceptable. -_- Anyone ever experience this?

Sounds like you're dealing with a narcissist... get away from him as SOON as possible, because it is indeed VERY TOXIC. To an arcissist "I love you" only means "I love to get laid by you, I'm in the mood tonight". They will only say things that benefits themselves.
Oh, ok. Thought you meant a partner. I have a narcissistic father, so I know all about the traits... and about the things Mom told me about him ;)

Yikes how were you able to manage the bullshit he put you through?
I keep my communication with him as limited as possible, and when he's trying to provoke me I say "Well I'm sorry you're feeling that way", and when he needs to have the last word as usual I don't respond, because I know if I do, I get an even worse respond from him. I'm highly sensitive, so avoidance is the best thing. Thank heavens I also have many creative hobbies, so I just do that a lot, give a lot of love to mom, and go away as often as I could.

Love doesnt mean anything really. Just tell them to shut the fuck up.

Yes. On an everyday basis for quite awhile now.

How do you deal with it?

For some time it does but not forever.Just have to block out the bullshit and realize that you are good enough.

Maybe the person wants to do it but they have anxiety.

Maybe what you're doing is toxic.

I doubt that they want to get piercings and tattoos since they follow the hardcore Christian life lol. If getting pierced and tattooed are toxic then good thing I am not forcing people to get them done but leave it up to them to make their own choice ;)
Just don't tell them.
