Negative people, I let it go in one ear and out the other. Defensive people, I just explain why I'm doing what I'm doing and it almost always is a misunderstanding or they're just an asshole. Lol

"I'm sorry you're feeling that way." They could be a narcissist, who can't take ANY form of criticism, even when you say things assertively "I would appreciate it if you... because it makes me feel...." and then they become over the top defensive. I know two narcissists in my life. My dad and a male coworker. It's the only way to not get another storm over your head from their negativity...

I think i'm just going to point out that they are being overly defensive or negative and use that as a reason to end the conversation.
