Do you like giving advice?

Yes and no. I used to prattle off advice a lot when I was younger until I learned
1.) most of the time unsolicited advice is received as intrusive
2.) A lot if the time even when people say they want advice they’re not actually ready to take actions, and what they really want is someone to do the work of fixing the problem for them.
3.) People who know you personally (meaning your own human-ness) rarely take your advice seriously even when you know what you’re talking about


That said, when I do give advice I try to check in with them, see what they’ve already tried, and make suggestions that would be subjectively relevant.

I used to, then learned to keep my mouth shut untill asked about it but now I just keep quiet even if they beg :|

I give solid advice. Some do not like hearing the truth. That is unfortunate. They live their lives as they do. I am happy to help. That is my role.

I'm better at giving advice in person than I am online. In fact, I need to start avoiding those posts here.

When someone posts publicly a problem they say they want to solve I foolishly assume they'd like some advice.
Recently was informed that's not always true.
That honestly confused me.

I have given advice, was it any good, I hope so.

I only give advice I can relate to, because what advice can someone give when one has no concept or experience with the stated subject?

I only give it when it’s requested. Giving unsolicited advice could get me involuntarily involved in any twist and turn of the other person’s life.

Give advice if you have experienced it or experiencing that issue.

People relate to your story not advice.

I do but when people ignore it i tend to start thinking why do i bother? 😅

No and no. But sometimes I like to share an experience with someone if I think they might relate to it (as I find it helpful when people do so for me)
