Okay people I also want to add that we only put away 200$ each paycheck. Plus when toiletries get low we pick it up also. And whenever our bedroom door is locked they feel the need to get in there because of our kitten. Granted its their house. Maybe I'm just sounding like a horrible person ranting. I feeling so stuck. How are we supposed to make it on our own if we're not giving the chance? I know they have bills to pay. I know they need help with that it just seems like too much. Sorry just again ranting.

Yes they’re are supposed to help you but it sounds like you’re helping them. (And using you) @SweetSeptember

$900 for one room for just 2 weeks!!!
Nah...here you could get a 2/3 bedroom house for that per month and I don't live in a cheap area. The Queen of England resides nearby and we have the tourists to prove it!
If this is serious then...America...you got issues! 🤷♀️

All depends upon the "going rate" in your community.... which is usually determined by supply and demand.
Having said that... where I live, $1800/mo gets you a 3 or 4 bedroom house in a decent neighborhood.

I wonder what it includes. @Threepio
@Spoiledbrat Just the house lease/rent. You'll also need to add electric and water (includes trash service). So add another $265/month or so in the summer and $130 or so in the winter (it is a warmer climate area so you're using AC in the summer).
Spoiledbrat · F
I meant in the askers rent. I know wouldn’t charge my son anything. @Threepio
kim1girl · 70-79, T
Hell, yes! Way too much.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
Depends how much you make, the quality of accommodations, and how expensive the location is. That seems fantastically cheap by my standards 🤷♂️ - but I live in a very high cost of living area.

@nukosa Dumps are cheap, because people with money don’t want to live there.
SweetSeptember · 36-40, F
It's for a bed room and it isn't even That big of a room. We're living with my family.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@SweetSeptember For a bedroom? That’s higher than SF prices lmao. Move out.
SW-User
@SweetSeptember move not worth the extortion...gee whiz family is supposed to help in time of need
Spoiledbrat · F
Are you moving out and that’s why you’re asking? I thought you were paying that to live with your parents. @SweetSeptember
TrunkZ · 56-60, M
Depends on where you live and the apartment you are renting. Unusual that it is every 2 weeks and not monthly.
BlueRain · 51-55, F
Yes if it is the same as a mortgage.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@BlueRain That rather depends on the size of said mortgage - but rent is often in the similar ballpark, because landlords need to pay their mortgages and make a profit.
Spoiledbrat · F
More people should own their own property. @QuixoticSoul
SweetSeptember · 36-40, F
@BlueRain she uses her check the pay for the mortgage. Ours im assuming is for the water bill, light bill . idk how she does her bills honestly

$1800 a month won't get you a very big apartment in Chicago
Sounds like a good deal

samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
Where and how many bedrooms?
Spoiledbrat · F
One @samueltyler2
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Spoiledbrat on NY that would be about half what you want to safety.
Spoiledbrat · F
It depends on where you live and your current salary.
nedkelly · 61-69, M
Depending on the area and what you are renting
lovingdead · 31-35, M

@QuixoticSoul Wow.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@DDonde Yup, shit is steep for a normal person. As a “tech bro” I am part of the problem.

that's fucking insane
bijouxbroussard · F
$1800 per month. Depends on the size of the unit and where it is. A one bedroom starts at about $3000, in my city.
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
Depends on a bunch of factors
strongbow · 46-50, M
You live in a big city?
