No, but it reminds me of the time when I worked in New York and it had a snowstorm that traffic was paralyzed. My best friend and I walked from 1st Avenue (upper East Side) all the way to New York Penn Station below Madison Square Garden, a 2-plus-mile walk in almost mid-calf of snow. I had boots on but snow got in anyway, our feet almost froze!
Wait... uphill, both ways, you said?🤔☺

Love that story . Did walk couple miles up and down on road . Probably a mile . Ice and snow covered road . Bus slid off of road . School closed . Driver opened door and let us out . Mom found out and came to pick me up . I slid off and fell in ditch . Made it home safe in mom's 65 Mustang .

No in elementary school it was a mile and half before bus service was available. Yes It was uphill both ways and sometimes with no shoes. The teacher would send me home. I'd grab my shoes from behind the bushes and headed home. Because the teacher sent me home I didn't need a note to return. We had snow days so I can't tell that lie. Yeah I'm actually honest when telling stories sometimes.
Mine was 2.5 miles and I walked there and back every day in whatever weather 💪. Having a cigarette along the way helped. Thank heavens for law breaking shopkeepers 👏

@ShepherdBard We used to take orders for everyone. We'd be in the shop like, "Gimme 5 x 10 Benson & Hedges, 5 x 20 Embassy No.1 and a pack of Rothman's Royals for the poor kid" 👏

No. I grew up in the South, so no snow. I waded through 2 miles of swamps with alligators, snakes, and quicksand. No hills, just cypress knees to trip me.
Punches · 46-50, F
No that was before my time.
I was privileged because I got to ride the short bus to school

Up a Volcano, we had a 6 year long heatwave, our school was precariously positioned at the top, we had to dodge lava spurts on the way up
YoMomma ·
We had to walk 4 miles on a sandy beach both ways 😅
